i asked this at the insider, but don't you guys think the kings have made a mistake with weal? they aren't using him and they aren't trading him. both ways decrease his value and so are bad business.

if they knew they had no spot they should've let him go to a team where he could get ice time and got a pick or whatever back in return. it's unfair to weal (who helped win them the calder cup) and it's not good for the kings organization, value-wise, either.

seems like lose-lose. i have no idea why they kept him. they were able to trade o-neill to jersey. surely they would've had offers for weal then?

O Neill is a career AHL player. Weal will be a very good NHL player. He will play. I'd personally have him and King over Andreoff and Nolan.

i also think his skills will transfer up but i have my doubts that the kings system is right for him or at least that they will have an available spot for him, in the right kind of role. however the problem for the kings is that burying him on a roster that can't use him depletes his value: outta sight, outta mind. they should've traded him when he was hot, i'm thinking. i don't know. i know it's only the 5th game, but he's played only 1 so it does make you wonder what their intentions are. maybe they will waive him.

I knew we wouldn't see Weal for awhile after he made that horrible turnover in his own zone that (I think?) lead to a goal. I don't like to see a player like him sitting.

It's only been a handful of games. I don't think sitting, practicing, and watching video is a bad thing for a student of the game like Weal. His entry into the lineup will come when other players underperform and get injured. I'm not worried about it. Even if the impossible happened and we stayed perfectly healthy and everyone played to their capabilities, I think he'd get some games in.

over or under 41 games for weal

To me it's more about why is Andreoff playing ahead of Weal.

A year of practice and comfort level with system is my guess However i will still think its more aa is a bottom 6 forward and fits better in a 4 c role Play makers like Weal need more mins sorry its how i feel honestly Its not a hate against Weal just we have more experience players playing in positions he fits

I'd say 40-50, so I'll take the over

I think 20 -30 so under it is for me. Actually if i know how to make a poll i think this would be a interesting poll type question for our fans. hint hint anyone that is willing and has the knowledge I also want to know is that a waste of his talent in your opinion I think so especially if the mins is under 12

i take it you mean getting some games in with the kings specifically or in NHL as a whole, just to be clear ...?

I'll do it. Though I think it's easier to do binary play/didn't play vs. he got 3 minutes a game so it doesn't count.

Well if i was setting it up I would say how many games does he get in as a king as that is all that really matters to me. 0- 20 20 -30 30-40 40 - 60 61+ is how i would set it up
However if you want to say nhl games this year that would be ok to me as well

for sure under and shhh don't remind me king is coming back please let me enjoy it :sarcasm::naughty: i jk sorta

However now that you brought it up where does he fit back in ?

lws now

brown
lucic
pearson
clifford

who moves where?

I personally think brown moves back to RW and Lewis moves to the 4th line with Nolan coming out. Pearson or Lucic on the top line with king back on the 3rd.

I like Lucic on the 2nd so I would go with Pearson.

If brown keeps up like he has been that would be the worst thing we can do. Brown has been our second best winger Hes back to playing like Brown physical and making plays If anything King goes to 3rw and lewis moves to center clifford and nolan

I would like to see Lewis center Pearson and King, just to see if it pans out, reunite Shore with Clifford and Nolan, who have some chemistry.

If that third worked out, that's a pretty formidable lineup when healthy. Odds are someone gets hurt before then, though.

i would like that as well but for the same reason I think Weal needs top mins Shore needs them as well to be effective However with his recent play i would like to see him drop a line till he earns more mins.

If we can find some chemistry on the bottom lines, I think our lineup honestly looks more deadly than ever at forward. Like, there are quite a few third line combos that look great on paper. Depth needed to make a real dent.

our roster in general looks good on paper, but then again so do a lot of things

i feel like sutter's just gonna run the blender until they find something that works for all 4 lines, it's only going to get more convoluted when King comes back and they introduce Weal into the mix

Not sure but it's good to have options. If Brown keeps up his play I like him back on a line with Kopitar. Also Carter and TT are joined together, and Gabroik and Lucic have the top two LW spots.
Really hard for me to see King or Pearson on the 4th line..one may have to move to the right side.
If Brown slides I can see Brown moving to the 3rd with King on the left side (could also help balance the lineup)..Pearson moves up.

Experience, comfort, role.

I don't necessarily agree with it but I can see why.

This plus he hasn't turned over the puck causing a goal yet this year. That was a big mistake and when it happened, I knew he would be sitting the next game. Weal also tried to get a little physical in a scrum shortly after that in the same game and got put on his ass. Andreoff has played his best hockey as a King so far this season so I think he's earned his playing time. He's also had 3 fights I think. Weal is going to have to wait until someone gets benched or get hurt. If I were a betting man, I'd take the under on the 41 game benchmark.
