I believe that Alfredsson should be Captain. Zetterberg and N. Kronwall with the A's.

What this team lacks is a great goaltender...let's hope that the ones we got can at least play decent.

Henrik Sedin is a joke. Alfie had a concussion during the playoffs, came back for the two final games and is now attending the WC despite being 300 years old.

The worst part is that if there is one player we really need, probably, its Hank Sedin.

Like, we can get alot from SELers and young NHLers. If MÃ¥rts does his job, every year we will have a very talented blueline that moves the puck well. Due to the same upbringing all these players have, we will have a awesome transition game. We will be half diciplined defensively. And we will have a good PK and a decent PP. We would never be easy to play in a best of 1 series.

BUT, we can get killed at the center position. You just cannot go up with Niklas Persson and Richard Wallin against a Mikko Koivu on every important face off/shift.

I am dumbfounded by how MÃ¥rts and BÃ…G pick their goalies, its like these older coaches don't recognize what the goalie position is about in the modern game. But in Enroth we atleast has a decent keeper. We also lack crease clearing ability at times. But our big weakness over the years is often at the center position. Hank would help greatly there.

Haha, imagine a D-pairing of Brodin and E. Karlsson. It wouldn't be a bad idea to put the designated forcheckers of the other team on suicide watch after going up against those 2...

Not one single game in Globen is sold out! The price for a ticket is very expensive that's for sure but I'am going to be very disappointed if our team is only playing in front of a half full arena.
But what does this mean to swedish hockey? When we can not sell out our own games? i really hope the selling of the tickets is going up now when a player like Alfredsson is coming and Karlsson is maybe on his way. What your thoughts about this? :)

I have mixed feelings towards that. One one hand it's good that the organizers will have to see how thier prices effect the attendance. If the games sell out dispite the high prices, the tickets wont go down in price next, rather the opposite.

But it's sad for the tourney and the players if they have to play in front of half or 1/3 emty arenas.

I am really angry actually. The prices is ridicoulous. I hope they let out the unsold tickets to reduced prices.

I would definitely keep Brodin in front of Frogren now that we have more physical defensive players in the rooster.

Dream team:
Franzén - Zetterberg - Alfredsson
Eriksson - Krüger - Silfverberg
Landeskog - Larsson - Järnkrok
Stålberg - Lundqvist - Pettersson

Kronwall N - Karlsson
Ericsson - Hedman
Brodin - Hjalmarsson
S Kronwall

I hope not, he should stay with the U-18/20, doing a very good job there right now.

He's already assistant coach with the men's, just like U-18 coach Rikard Grönborg. They jump in when their seasons with the juniors are over. But yeah, I'd rather keep him as head coach there for some more. He's young and will get his chance soon enough.

The tickets are insanely expensive. Jesus. SEK 4,000-6,000 (USD 1,000) for me to take my family to watch a WCH game against Norway with decent-half good tickets. I am a business lawyer in Stockholm, but there is no way I am paying that. My kids is a bit too young to really experience a game, but its still very expensive for a WCH game. The OG's or for a WC game, Id pay that. Not the WCH's.

Haha, I am not even joking when I say that the thought has crossed my mind that it must be a soccer fan that has set these ticket prices. Financially, a arena 2/3 sold out will get you exactly the same income as a arena sold out but the tickets being 2/3 as expensive. The logic behind high ticket prices is easy to understand. But with these ticket prices, the WCH in Sweden could become a joke and really hurt the WCH here next year.

The WCH's in Gotenburg some ten years ago was really bad. There were at the most 2,000 Swedes in the arena for Sweden-Finland, and the game wasn't even sold out.

And its not even so much the money itself, as much as the absurd pricing compared to a "normal" game. Like a PO game in the SEL costs from 40 bucks for good seats. A WCH game against Norway, 250 bucks.

Thanks!!!

Its a little "Swedish" to not have the Detroit guys on it... They will have been in Sweden for over 48 hrs. The WCH will soon start. Everyone knows that 4-5 players on that team never will play the WCH. It seems like they want value it so much to give the scrubs from the SEL every chance to prove themselfs...

Agree with everything you're saying!

Tre Kronor have always been called 'folkets lag' but i'm not so sure about that anymore. I really hope they will learn from this so it's going to be 'normal prices' and a packed arena nex year, but i'm very doubtful about that...
I mean, what will the NHL players think when they come out on the ice when there is so many empty seats? Hope they understand it's because the prices and nothing else.

48 hours? Franzén arrived early this morning, and Hank/Ericsson/Kronwall arrived around lunch time, and the game is tomorrow at 15:30. That's a little more than 24 hours, and with a long flight like that behind them, I can understand it.

About the ticket prices: I just hope that the fatcats who set the prices will be embarrassed enough to lower them drastically if the games aren't sold out by the start of the tournament. If Sweden's games aren't all sold out, then heads should roll in the swedish hockey federation.

I can imagine Wikegård is going to be mad at those prices if the swedish games is not sold out! The swedish hockey federation can prepped to get grilled I hope and believe. But it's not fair in way to take less money for the tickets to those who have payed this high price for a ticket.

The team is really shaping up!

The question that remains is how is MÃ¥rts coahing really, and is he getting the best out of his material? The team looked awful in this tournament, and I think a lot of players played under their normal level. I mean I know Niklas Persson for example, can play hockey and is knowned to be a smart player with hockey sense, and he just looked absolutely worthless and made tons of stupid plays theese last few games. They all looked very out of synch with very little chemistry.

When so many players underperform at once, you might think there is something wrong with the coaching and the team spirit.

x100, there was no system or teamplay in the last 4-5 games, the only reason this might work is because they brought over detroit red wings...:shakehead
