give him the 'C'

Alfredsson
Captain
/
Daniel
Competitor

PS. Erik Karlsson (21 drinks of age) will hear for a hundred years he declined from fatigue when Alfredsson (50 years old) gladly accepted.

I think that quote was out of context but you never know. He clearly stated his doubt about attending to the WC was because he is out of a contract and is thus uninsured.

Reg. Karlsson, it could come down to money if he can play or not. Tre Kronor will have to see what the insurance will cost, and if they can afford it. Obviously they cannot break the bank just to get Karlsson over. I have no idea how rich the Swedish hockey association is....hopefully rich enough.

Ottawa will make you a deal. Sweden doesnt pay insurance but Matt Carkner must suit up for your blueline.

I'm not gonna question their decision regarding that, but it would be a pity if it comes down to money. Imo, if they could get insurance for Z's contract they should get it done for Karlsson too.

If Karlsson is out of contract then it's a lot harder to set a value for the insurance. He stands to make a lot more money out of his next contract and getting injured at the Worlds is a huge risk.

Your team is starting to look really solid, should be a good tournament and hopefully Canada-Sweden can match-up in the medal rounds. Both countries are bringing stacked teams.

Yah. Hopefully it won't be an astronomical amount, and that it can be seen as something that pays off in the long run with increased ticket sales and whatnot instead.

Solve insurance questions in time. Swedish icehockey federation must have a policy in this matter.

Yeah, I missed that. Sorry, Erik!

PS. Alfredsson will set the tone for future elders when it comes to WC. Hero.

They do have a policy but they do also have a limit (moneywise). The General Manager of Team Sweden received the question: "Do the Swedish icehockey federation have the money to insure Erik Karlsson?". They replied: - We don't know yet. But we must of course draw a line if its too expensive. Harshly translated.

They also state in the article that since Erik Karlsson is out of a contract the insurance company has to value his cost/risks. It could turn out to be expensive.
