McGinn-Legwand-Foligno/Deslauriers

Weber-Risto
Gorges-Pysyk
Need 2 LHD, IMO. One for Bogo and one for if Gorges is done or still injured come game 1.
Do McGinn, Legwand, Moulson, or Gionta have any value?
Seems like the top 6 centers should be O'Reilly and Eichel. Kane and Ennis should be in the top 6 somewhere. I'd do a top line of Kane-O'Reilly-Girgensons and get a lot of size and speed on that line. Then load the 2nd line with a ton of skill. Ennis-Eichel-Reinhart.
That's a pretty sweet top 6 that could really grow together.
Top 6 forwards:
Kane-O'Reilly-Girgensons
Ennis-Eichel-Reinhart
The bottom 6 is a lot tougher. I like Foligno there on the LW because he can step up into the top 6 if you need him too for a stretch because of injuries or play in the bottom 6 and still chip in offensively a bit and is a big 6'3 body..
As a Wild fan I'm pretty high on Johan Larsson and I think you gotta give him an extended shot cuz he could become the perfect middle 6 center. Foligno and him seem like perfect 3rd line guys. If Larsson can continue his 5g 8ast pace that he had in his final 19 games...well that's some nice depth scoring from your 3rd line. And Gionta the captain is a nice veteran presence to round out that line.
Top 9 forwards:
Kane-O'Reilly-Girgensons
Ennis-Eichel-Reinhart
Foligno-Larsson-Gionta
Moulson is an okay scorer, but he doesn't do anything without the puck at all, is slow as molasses, weak on the boards, etc. If you want to start building a group that can play the kind of hockey that it takes to win in the NHL, guys like Moulson be okay in the regular season, but disappear completely come playoff time and completely drags down one of your top 6 lines and makes you make tough decisions. Find a way to get rid of him.
I'd make McGinn, Legwand, and Deslauriers the 4th line.
You've got a lot of youth playing some big minutes which is good. But having Legwand and Gionta as role models to these guys would be really good for their development.
McGinn is only 26 and he's a great guy to have on your team because he really pisses other teams off and gets them off there game. I thought he was a goon for a long time, but he's actually pretty skilled.
He's one year removed from a season in which regular season playoffs he played 86g and scored 21 goals and 22 assists. Basically 20-20 over 82 games.
And in his previous two seasons with the Avalanche he played a combined 64 games and scored 19 goals and 16 assists for 35 points...which is basically a 25-20 pace.
So McGinn is pretty reliably a 20-20 guy who's not afraid to play physical and with an edge. Put DesLauriers on the other side, a guy who can be really physical and drop the gloves too and you've got a 4th line that can chip in offensively and set the tone physically.
Kane-O'Reilly-Girgensons
Ennis-Eichel-Reinhart
Foligno-Larsson-Gionta
McGinn-Legward-DeLaureiers
Next offseason they should look into bringing Fasching, Bailey, etc. While getting rid of legwand, DeLaureiers, and Gionta.
