I look at these deals, and I'm overall just not that impressed, or everything is very situational.

Like, I see that Washington is going all in on Ilya Protas at C. That's bold.

San Jose needs 2 defensemen, at least one of whom is top 4 NOW. I feel fairly certain that's in motion. They have Orlov, Kesselring, and a lot of baby D.

Romanov is who I would move due to contract and Pelech being the better player. But Pelech probs gets more due to those facts. Pelech probs fetches a first alone while Romanov maybe a 2nd plus another low round pick

Pelech ain’t getting a 1st. Our GM would probably take a 3rd for Pelech.

Their retool started in 2023 when they traded away Tarasenko, O’Reilley, etc. and passing the team to Kyrou/Thomas etc. and kept Binnington. Now they are trading Thomas and wanna now get rid of Binnington and already traded Schenn.

Nemec pretty much gets the Dobson return.

Not really. Heineman is much better than a 2nd round pick. And #16 and #17 in the draft that's a couple of weeks after the trade is MUCH better than late round picks next year and the year after.

Exactly, what they do... Take Stenberg at #2 and grab one of Verheoff, Smits, Rudolph, or Gustafsson at 9. They can then trade 27 OA and 62nd OA for Pelech or a Dman to help them next season.

Strange, somehow.

Yes well Ottawa was getting rid of that 9th pick for an NHL player before the draft so they announced that to 31 teams and essentially had a 48 hour auction for it.
