Amazing how the dumpster fire that is the devils always lands FAs. And we havent sniffed one in 40 years

And they are just constantly gifted NHL draft lottery wins (Larsson, Hischier, Hughes and now Nemec). Meanwhile the Isles either stayed in their original slot or got bumped down far too often.

Let’s just rip the band aid off and tear this team down and go full rebuild. Us constantly being behind every other team is so frustrating.

If JG signs for 7 years he'll be 35 when he is next a UFA. If I were a player agent I'd angle for a 6 year deal at a higher amount per year and see if anyone bites. Like 6 x $11M. The client would then be set up to get a longer term/price deal next time when he turns UFA at 34. But I know they like to maximize the current deal and not worry about that kind of thing.

BTW, it's fun to speculate about JG, but I'm not expecting him. We'll see what happens. I'm prepared for anything from absolutely no moves to something big, with the likely outcome something in the middle.

We’ll, there’s no arena and owner uncertainty anymore. Even the bump from LI to NYC adjacent has not yet moved the needle.

$1B arena, rebuild, where’s my $18 tickets?

Right there with you. I don’t see it either. Isles don’t have many advantages over the other options he has in the tri-state area.

Since it's Lou, I could see something totally out of left field. Like we were not expecting Romanov and boom. Some players could shake loose over the next stretch of time. For example, OTT has plenty of cap space but if they sign Giroux suddenly their list of RFAs starts being an issue. So maybe they look to move someone out.

Lou is busy changing the fax paper.
It's not easy lining up those holes along the sides of the paper.

Since there is a little smoke to the fire and because of obvious cap situation my "realistic" and most "ideal" outcome for today/this week would be:

Bailey/5th round pick to Seattle for Soucy and 3rd round pick

2023 1st (protected)/Raty and Wilde to Vancouver for J.T, Miller (who signs an extension) and 5th round pick

Sign someone like Colin White in FA (who gets beat out by Bellows and is buried) lol

I don't think Lou is trading Valarmov, so that is out and Miller (although I hope Tarasenko becomes an option) is the most realistic because of his low cap hit for this season and of course because we reportedly already ventured there. I still think Bailey is player who is ultimately moved...Don't think we are signing JG and I just don't see PKane available this summer...rather not trade our 2023 1st, but that isn't going to stop Lou from doing it; I dont inlcude Raty unless Miller extends

Miller (5.25)/Barzal (7)/Palmieri (5)
Lee (7)/Nelson (6)/Wahlstrom (.9)
Parise (.8)/JGP (5)/Beauvillier (4.25)
Martin (1.5)/Cizikas (2.5)/Clutterbuck (1.75)

Pelech (5.75)/Pulock (6.15)
Romanov (3)/Dobson (4)
Soucy (2.75)/Mayfield (1.45)

Bellows (.9)/Salo (.8)

Sorokin (4)/Varlamov (5)

Total: 80.75

If Lou knows it's between PHI and NJ, I might be okay with him taking on JVR if he can somehow take advantage of desperation and get an unprotected '23 1st rounder out of Sam Pollack there in PHI.

You can’t call it that. Lou only knows it as a Facsimile Machine.

1. The less we hear about JG the better it might be for isles.

2. Not to be conspiratorial but the devs passed on Wright in favor of D...a prelude breadcrumb to JG signing?
