Something I'd love to see, but will never happen...

1) Isles sign John Klingberg...
2)...Then trade Pulock to help fix the offense.

Then Isles still sign two more bottom pairing defenseman (not Salo-like AHLer's)...

...And maybe even move out Mayfield (because he's ok, but you could get a good asset for his cheap contract and he's not going to be worth the UFA deal he gets in a year).
I like Klingberg but with Dobson’s emergence, I’m not sure he’s the one you pony up for (unless NYI is looking to run two right shot D on their top PP unit, which seems unconventional but not unheard of).

Right. It’s a lie. So let me justify myself to you long time poster and obviously a detective in the real world….

It’s why I posted the same thing 2 months ago. It’s why JG is still unsigned in Calgary. It’s why both nyr and nyi rumors are hitting now when the experts have said Philly and NJ for the past 2 years aka JT in Toronto.

Heaven for bid someone has real world connections and shares info on a board where clearly no one knows more about the sport or scoop than 10,000 post posters like yourself. So continue to laugh it up hot shot.

I hope he signs with one of the two simply so I can watch you go radio silent with your finger up your butt.
I hear you, i got the same skepticism when i had shared info received from my daughters coach who at the time was the COO of the Habs. You just hope that people can differentiate the garbage poster from the
the others who want to share what will be as close to insider info as any here will ever get.

Personally I much rather pony up and trade for Kane if he is willing to extend then sign Gaudreau for 7 years. For starters Kane's salary will probably be cheaper and contract shorter, but I also think positionally we can use a RW more then a LW.
I would normally agree regarding needing a RW but putting him on righty Barzal's LW could be pretty good

Was at a wedding on thw weekend with he and other NHL players, agents and financial advisors. If I can offer you one thing, it would be not to share anything you hear. 1 people will not believe you and 2 the people/players will quickly dislike you. just my two cents

Before we jump any further into this yearly cesspool, I would like to remind you all of rule 8

Pulock is actually better thank Klingberg. Klingberg will also cost much more than Pulock.

As far as trading Mayfield though, I'm pretty sure you can get a decent return. Thatch absolutely negate the Romanov overpayment.

When is the last time we had a good july 1? Seems like we do well right before the end of the season but I can't remember any great signings on free agent day.

Here we go. This one is going to be close boys and girls. I think we have a real shot at one of the NHL's top 5 players last year. I don't think he would rock the internal cap structure if he came in here at 9.5-10M per year. If it is about fit, let it be on the Island. He is the missing piece to a potential Cup.

Well, let's see what happens. Personally, I think it's between the Flyers and the Devils, but maybe Lou can pull a rabbit out of a hat and get us the type of player we truly need.

You can complain about the numbers, but Gaudreau would fill the Islanders biggest need, and would be, by a mile, the biggest free agent signing the franchise has ever had.
Would have to move Bailey and Varlamov's 10m combined to pay JG 10m but it would be worth it.
