If Neiderreitter for a second is at all a market setter… Max Domi should be a similar cost. No?

He was a former line-mate of Bo Horvat on the OHL London Knights. So hopefully they can develop some quick chemistry with what’s left of the season.

He has no contact for next year and is young enough that he can be extended if things work out.

This is the type of deal I would support. They need some depth up front. Pageau not even skating…maybe he’s back after our mini deadline break. I think the room at least deserves that after the wins against Pitt.

If you can get someone to run a PP I would be interested in that as well.

Looks like Devils win the Mieir sweepstakes. Huge pick up for them if it happens
If SJ doesn't like the market, can't they just wait until after the season to trade Meier? When does he have to be qualified?

So I felt this way as well but supposedly some feel the market won’t be as good because he has a huge qualifying offer. To me if you’re acquiring him you’re planning on signing him long term anyway so I didn’t think that would be an issue.

If I was SJ I wouldn’t feel pressured into taking a deal I didn’t like just because the trade deadline. He’s not a UFA

Don’t you dare underestimate Lou’s ability to find a way to trade a future 1st round pick for an average player.
Let me start be saying I'm undecided, but let me ask you this hypothetical... Would you accept another first going for a signed Meier? Isles long-term core basically becomes:

Meier, Horvat, Barzal
Pelech, Pulock, Dobson
Sorokin

You try to keep second and third round picks to find the depth players to fill the bottom six. By the time players like Nelson and Pageau are moving on you are back into having first round picks.

FWIW, the current Boston Bruins are not much more home-grown than that core above.

I would send them two firsts.....and another pick or two if needed....as well as a player...That is one very good core there along with pieces we have.

I love Meier, he would fit like a glove. I just dont think we have the assets the Sharks would want. No 1st this year and no bluechip prospects.

I called it, knew he wasn’t interested in coaching anymore. One of his interviews he said a lot of things that just led you to think coaching wasn’t for him any longer. It’s too bad he couldn’t work here as GM but he just built a house in Nashville so this makes sense. It will be interesting which ex caps and isles end up there.

Lou needs to make them an offer they can't refuse.
I know people hate trading firsts but two firsts in 24 and 25 would be our best offer to begin.
