With the stockpile of cap space, picks, and prospects, this needs to be one of the singularly greatest offseason a team has ever had.

Major 2C acquisition
Major 1RD acquisition
Major top 6 wing acquisition
Get a f***ing goalie

If preseason rankings don’t have them up there with Florida and Dallas as the top cup contenders, ownership and management would’ve had to f*** up astronomically. Anything besides building a behemoth this summer would be wasting the fan’s time, wasting Aho and Slavin’s careers here, and would be going back on promises made from the organization regarding the direction and goals of the franchise.
There's no goalie to get so be prepared to be whelmed

Influencers are useless people. Maybe a little less annoying than the douchebag prank-bro YouTubers since they don't usually go out of their way to f*** with people running errands but still, useless individuals.

This is an "Influencer" by the way. 100k followers for being fat, actually probably more now since this was 2017

I can put up with another year of Andersen/Kochetkov if the rest of the roster sees major improvement
Stranger things have happened than Freddie making it through a season without an injury. Quite frankly he has been very good when he has played. It's very possible we give him a 1 year and he plays 30 ish games and is the backbone for the up run.

Major apologies from me, I’ll put both hands up and accept I f***ed up on that one. After a disappointing day of frustrating roster changes I was looking for an easy target to dunk on. No one deserves the kind of energy I sent your way unless they’re being an asshole, which you were not. Sorry once again.
i understand , i watched Woody's press conference , i guess its the first time i heard him speak , holy crap i just want to bully him , and im so passive lol and i havent opened my bourbon today , there would have been many incoherent phrases or i would have be total quiet ZZZZZZZZZZ

Apparently Tulsky has said we had other targets but the focus on the Rants trade took too long and they missed out on other moves.

Well that’s fun to speculate on.
Yeah, I heard that too from Tulsky.

Which, if Rantanen never intended on extending with us, he could've at the very least given us more time to make other moves before the trade deadline. Seriously, what the f*** was with that guy stringing us along for so long and even giving Dallas a hard time based on reports?

It was an example of "piss or get off the pot." Then we were stuck with not having enough time to make another big trade to improve our roster because Rantanen was being so indecisive despite knowing he didn't want to extend with us; which he said a few days ago and wanting to have more time to play before making a commitment.

She's an Instagram influencer. She wants to be in a big city
If true, this might be the real reason Rantanen didn't want to extend with Carolina. What would make a player want to give up on a long time good friend from his home country (Aho), an annual playoff team, and a good and well respected head coach (not to mention good fans)? p***y. That's what.

DB trashed us on The Point w Kouls. Can’t say he was wrong and he’s usually a Canes guy. I’m paraphrasing, but essentially he hated what we did, we went from having a 60pt guy(necas) to a 45 goal guy (rant) ending up with a tiny guys that’s only score 19 goals in his entire career.

Sure, if you ignore the rest of the pieces of the deals, that's definitely how the trade looks

I don’t love how everything has played out, but this kind of arguing works a lot more if all these players were the same age with the same contract.

Plus, the more I listen to NHL Radio the more cemented I become in my certainty that no one on that channel knows f*** all about this team. Not that our FO is perfect, or that I'll argue we had a good day today, but those guys should show at least a modicum of interest in teams not in Canada or the biggest US markets.

Ultimately, it all depends on how you look at the deals. If you break it down piece by piece, it's horrible for Carolina

- Necas + Drury+ picks for 3 months of Rantanen and Hall is a terrible deal

- A signed Rantanen for Stankoven and two 1sts is a terrible deal.

However, if you look at the entire sequence as one continuous deal:

- Necas + Drury for Hall + Stankoven and two 1sts is a pretty good deal

His argument was basically that draft picks are duuuuuuuumb and when are they gonna help us if ever? 6 years? Again paraphrasing.

Okay, so he's clearly clueless and not worth listening to then. Because he should know that when a team is a contender, picks are used as trade bait. As early as 4 months from now.

Or if the catch isn't good, you trade down and accumulate 10-13 picks in the lower rounds as lotto tickets and potentially find the next Nikishin or Blake.
