If the Guentzel trade ends up being Guentzel for Lindholm for Debrusk that would be the most Penguins thing ever. Have a futures based trade on the table for him with some quality prospects and they go "nah, f*** it, we can compete, let's bring in the worst player in the trade that happens to be an impending UFA himself because reasons". Like I won't even be mad (well aside from the fact that Lindholm is going to Boston) because how badly Dubas managed it is just f***ing hilarious.

It's always the Rangers, because without the admittedly-competent Jeff Gorton, they have little concept of the value of long-term thinking. In insect terms, the Rangers are like crickets while the Canes are like ants. They're going to yet again blow an insane wad on either Buchnevich or Guentzel and will be caught up the creek without a paddle when their productive core ages out. I feel like Vegas does a better job of balancing things out. Despite their reputation, their moves have loads of substance to them and have long-term planning in mind.

Edstrom is probably their most intriguing guy right now. I could see a package centered around Edstrom and Dorofeyev.
