I’m a little jealous of the low key rangers Wennberg trade. That guy would make a good Cane, and he’d be a good band aid upgrade at 2C if we aren’t going to find anyone else this year. Great skater, great stick handler and playmaker. Not much of a shooter and he never equaled what his skills are but he’s a valuable guy for a cheap price.

Regarding the trade talk for Guentzel involving Morrow, if we can keep Morrow, that'd be ideal since Burns only has 1 year left after this season, and we don't know for sure if Pesce will be extended or not this summer.

So, our RHD could be in real bad shape, and getting a good RHD seems tough in this league.

Pittsburgh fans seem okay with other prospects not named Nikishin (I should hope so) or Morrow. A lot of them have mentioned Nadeau. I know Nadeau is thought of highly, but I think it's probably easier to get a good winger than it is a good RHD IMO (plus we'd get a skilled winger with Guentzel). I feel like we'll have to trade at least one of Morrow or Nadeau for Guentzel though; especially with other teams still in the mix apparently.

Some of them also mentioned Blake.

An upgrade is an upgrade. He’d raise the skill level of any line he played on. Drury/KK as the 2C both lack the offensive instincts to bring out much of any wingers they play with. Wennberg is a slick playmaker. He’d get whatever wingers he was with the puck in dangerous areas. He could play wing with anyone too. I agree we’d rather have a shooter but I don’t think adding Wennberg would’ve precluded us from still adding a sniper if we found one we felt like paying for.

Meh. Maybe? I don’t think he’s like that, it’s not like the Borg screwed him over. I’m sure he doesn’t want to deal with TD, but I’d be surprised if he didn’t have a half decent pre existing relationship with DW. They’ve both been around forever. He hired Tulsky, was York an RF guy?
