These Brooks' articles are difficult to read. Yuck.

This is simply beautiful to watch again:
Absolutely....loved Jim Gordon. He and Bill Chadwick were so fun to listen too. Check out Gordon's goal calls when a Ranger scored. It was just a simple "scooorree". But Gordon made it sound so awesome.
Check out some of his goal scores during the infamous Ranger/Islander ECF in '79. He made games so exciting...enjoy some of these great memories. Rewind it to the beginning.
For some reason it starts at the 6 minute mark. Loved his call on the Duguay goal. Check out how loud it gets when the Rangers score at the Coliseum. You would have sworn the game was at the Garden it was so loud...lol
Skip to the 16 minute mark for the start of Game 3 at MSG and you get some classic Gordon and Chadwick for the next 6 minutes...awesome stuff!. Check out how loud the Garden gets when the Rangers score. That's when the blue seats were the blue seats and only true Ranger fans were there...not just suits.
Thanks for the video! Growing up in StLouis we got to hear Dan Kelly exclusively. He was the best ever.
I was at that game. The Garden was rocking after that fight!
I absolutely loved Jim Gordon. He was the reason I went to Syracuse University. I had the chance to meet him several times and he was engaging, friendly and an all around great guy.
Sidebar -- if you have had a chance to meet Sam Rosen, same thing...terrific guy, will stand and talk Ranger hockey with you
That series was John Van Biesbrouck’s coming out party.Well you were a very lucky man as that moment when McPhee beats Tocchet's ass was the tonic the Rangers needed to win that opening round series vs the heavily and I do mean heavily favored Flyers in '86
Those were the Dave Brown Flyers and they were so f'n hateable. That upset over them was as much fun as I've ever had as a Ranger fan. Their beating the equally good and heavily favored Caps the series after was almost as much fun.
Beating the Flyers tho has special meaning for older fans like me.

No probs...anyone whoever is old enough to remember, loves Jim Gordon. Even if your not old enough and weren't around for Gordon, all you have to is listen to his goal score calls and you get a good feel as to what he was like which was probably the bet pbp guy Rangers have ever had with Marv Albert a very very close 2nd.
I grew up listening to Dan Kelly. If I recall correctly, whenever the NHL Game of the week was on TV, it was Kelly who was the lead play by play guy. Great voice...great delivery...very good announcer. His son btw isn't too shabby either as he and Darren Pang are a real good listen. on Blues games.
I just wait around to hear Pang say "holy jumpin" once or twice and than I go watch another game...lol
Yes he did, but he stole that playoff series and gained a lot of national attentionActually Bob, it wasn't just the playoffs for his coming out party as didn't he win the Vezina that year?

Are you pissed at Brooks for something?![]()
No. He just writes the same way my 12-year old talks.
OK, just wondered if he had done something, stolen material or whatever.
Didnt read the Brooks article. His journalism is a mixed bad of lazy, biased, emotional, and just disingenuous.
As much as I would love to add Josh Anderson, I am not sure I would trade Buchnevich for him. Anderson is going to be battling back from the shoulder rehab. He had promise before the injury, but who knows what youll get when he is back and he plays a style of game that can lead to re-injuring it or injuring something else. Buch has been pretty consistent thus far in his career with his production.
Buch will be missed once we are where we want to be in a few years and people here complain about depth scoring.
For all his faults, he seems to put up the same rate of scoring no matter if he's on lines 1, 2, or 3. Some just want him to be something he's not.
If his salary fits, I don't see a reason to trade him in the immediate future unless it's a lateral move for a similar producer who plays a heavier game or, we luck into a more prolific UFA/RFA who just bumps him so far down the RW depth chart we have to trade him.
Neither Buch nor Kravtsov are 4th line types. Buch insulates Kravtsov until Kravtsov proves he is 2LW capable. At that point, GMJG can re-evaluate the paradigm of having a Buch/Kravy RW combo at the 2/3 slots and determine if that is a worthwhile combo for nightly match-ups, or does one of them serve a better trade chip?
Agreed with your assessment of Anderson. He's a question mark at this point.
Not sure why we need another RHD. If he’s smart he’ll sign somewhere elseCould the Rangers be the other team in the hunt for Shesterkin's former teammate in the KHL?

He writes in a way that doesn't alienate a readership with a fifth grade reading level. I'm only reading his articles now because THERE'S NOTHING ELSE TO DO but good for him to be so settled in a niche that he doesn't have to make any effort in his work.Aside from him not really saying anything (it's a lot or rehashing of what was already said in previous weeks), his limited vocabulary makes his articles a chore to get through.
I guess I expect more from someone who does this for a living.
