Yah...that was brutal what Orr did to Fedoruk as it's not often that you get one punch knockouts.

For awhile there it didn't look like Fedorok was going to get up. Thankfully he did but he was never the same player ever again.
That was his own fault for dropping the gloves. He should have known better.

Agreed. And will add to it that when Orr knocked out Fedouruk, it felt like over 20 years of torture at the hands of the Flyers were exercised.

I was at that game. Scary how hard he went down. He was out cold.

He was never much of a player to begin with.

I don't wish the guy ill but he wasn't a very talented hockey player.

Wasn’t implying Fedoruk was a good player at all. He was an enforcer.

What I was implying was that after the Orr knockout he was never the type of enforcer he used to be...he became a bit gunshy which is not all that surprising considering what Orr did to him.

BTW...your avatar? Is that the dude who was the big bad the last season of the tv series Fargo?

If not, it looks like him. Hopefully that show comes back after a long hiatus!

VM Varga, yep.

George was tough as nails.

McPhee pound for pound was one of the best enforcers Rangers ever had.

The guy was what...5'10" 175 tops? He takes on Tocchet who was nasty back than and two times the size and Mcphee kicks his ass.

One other fight that brings a twinkle to my eye was when Nicky Fotiu took on big Behn Wilson of the Flyers back in '79. No one f'd with Wilson back than as he was probably the best fighter in the league.

Fotiu tho knew how to box and he took Wilson too school. I remember watching this live and it was glorious to watch...a Ranger kicking the ass of a Flyer never gets old...lol

Jim Gordon was so fun to listen to.

Absolutely....loved Jim Gordon. He and Bill Chadwick were so fun to listen too. Check out Gordon's goal calls when a Ranger scored. It was just a simple "scooorree". But Gordon made it sound so awesome.

Check out some of his goal scores during the infamous Ranger/Islander ECF in '79. He made games so exciting...enjoy some of these great memories. Rewind it to the beginning.

For some reason it starts at the 6 minute mark. Loved his call on the Duguay goal. Check out how loud it gets when the Rangers score at the Coliseum. You would have sworn the game was at the Garden it was so loud...lol

Skip to the 16 minute mark for the start of Game 3 at MSG and you get some classic Gordon and Chadwick for the next 6 minutes...awesome stuff!. Check out how loud the Garden gets when the Rangers score. That's when the blue seats were the blue seats and only true Ranger fans were there...not just suits.

He was also fantastic as the radio voice of the NY Football Giants.

Your right...Jim Gordon was a NY treasure and should be considered one of the best play by play guys in the history of NY sports.

He's right there with Marv Albert in my book for sure an I think Albert was the best of any NY based play by play ever. Some peeps who are older than me will argue that that Marty Glickman might be the best but for me...Albert and Gordon were the best.

Uncle Larry continuing to suck Josh Andersen off in his Buchnevich article this morning is just the quality journalism I’ve come to expect from our beat writers

You know how he likes to do things. Harp on them on until it either comes to fruition or continue to whine when he doesn't get his way.

There is a thought that Buchnevich is moved to in order to help augment/diversify what someone can bring from that position.

Also, there has to be an odd man out. Two years from now, I do not see a resigned DeAngelo, a resigned Strome and a resigned Buchnevich all being on the team.

Well Josh Anderson is going to be on the market when the next trade season opens up. I think he ends up out west, but I would be shocked if he is back in Columbus.

Just saw a ticker on the bottom of NHL network saying rest of regular season cancelled. Anyone else seeing this anywhere?

I think what you saw was probably the ECHL or CHL. They are showing the info under the NHL banner, but there's nothing there that says the NHL season has been canceled.

The ECHL, USHL, WHL, QMJHL and OHL seasons have been canceled.

I didn’t see this but apparently Joe Buck went on the Michael Kay show yesterday and said the NHL is going to just cut the regular season and start the playoffs should they come back with the teams that were in

I guess his daughter dates a player so maybe that’s why he would know

Ah, you know what it was? The NHL logo was there because that was the topic but you’re right it was just the other ones. False alarm.

I honestly dont think Buchnevich is going anywhere. I really dont think any of our players are outside of the fringe guys. Buch, DeAngelo, Strome and Fast will still be here next season imo
