I was just using your post as a jumping off point. Seems a lot of people feel Hank is cooked and I disagree with that.

He's absolutely an upgrade on Holtby, Rinne, Bobrovsky and MAF this season. Talking player on the ice. If Lundqvist was on Vegas or Washington he would be better than Fleury and Holtby. Dude, Holtby has an .896 SV% on one of the best teams in the league! That's insane.

Holtby, Price, Bob, the supposed “elite” goalies around the league have been awful , every night they give up goals that would get Hank lynched on this board. It’s sickening how not only the team but the fans want to throw Hank away like last weeks trash

Kase is a tremendous players whose issues this far have been staying healthy and coaches not playing him high enough in the lineup. That had changed this year where since December he was getting 18+ mins/game. He's very very easily worth a 1st. The health is a pretty large concern though.

Not necessarily. What if Boston just freed up cap space for a trade and re-sign of Kreider? They still have plenty of ammo to do so. I imagine Boston is certainly one team Kreider would commit to signing an extension right now.

Someone jokingly said Debrusk, but that's not "out there" if it's for an extended Kreider.

unless they’re offering Debrusk which would make no sense they don’t have a spot for Kreider anymore. That Debrusk Krejci Kase line is an ideal second line.

Ranger's using uncle larry again to make other teams up their offers. Like it.

Boston getting better puts pressure on other teams to get better, like it.

At the end of the day (deadline), Kreider will be no more and we can all move on.

What are the gaps? That's the question. If they have agreed on AAV and term and are just haggling over no trade rights, then I'd say it's a done deal. If they are still far apart on AAV and term, he's a goner.

That's what we don't know.

But literally, Larry's Tweet could've been copied from this board. It says everything we've already said over the last week, and doesn't really add any new information.

Yeah but Kreider Krejci Kase would be a perfect KKK line in Boston.

Backes only has 1 more year after this one, but that's still not enough value for Kase. Anaheim GM should be fired with how he dismantled the team and their amazing core of young defenders.

IMO, Brooks just adds more fuel to the idea that things have been moving in the direction of Kreider being re- signed. At the beginning of the year, it was all but certain Kreider was getting moved. But, as we’ve moved closer to the trade deadline, more and more information is coming out that has altered that certainty. This, coupled with Carpinello’s comments yesterday has me somewhat confident a deal is more likely than not that Kreider is re-signed. Still, a deal isn’t done until it’s done.

The fact that Boston made it known Kreider was their guy and they said f*** it and traded for Kase isn’t good for the Rangers leverage in a trade

Does Dubas have doodoo all over his face?

They gave up their higher 1st + Marleau for nothing in return, meanwhile Boston is able to get a solid, young 2nd line player for Backes + 1st.

Quite the big middle finger Sweeney just gave to Gorton

Maybe, maybe not. Trading their 1st won’t help in negotiations, but moving Backes’ salary off their books might mean they’re even more interested in Kreider now. They still have a number of good prospects they can include. And honestly, if I’m Gorton, I would prioritize acquiring a top prospect over a late 1st given where this team is at right now.

Boston is retaining 25% on Backes, but they still have some room and enough assets to get Kreider.

if They do re-sign Kreider and Strome is still here Monday night I’ll be a little pissed tbh

Strome can be moved at the draft, but his max value is now. Would be a missed opportunity, but unless there is another move for a center, there will be a gaping hole in that spot for this season and organizationally.

Do we really want to see Howden at 3C again? Unless Strome nets a center in return, that's what we'd be getting.
