Speculation: Roster Building Thread XIV

Really hope Drury pulls off something small but "large" tonight if ya catch my drift. You know, something to turn the heads of all the people giving us shit for picking up Goodrow
 
not that surprised that Ron Francis would not take Gauthier. He did trade him away for 3rd rounder AHL defenseman so he was willing to let him go before. He'd be willing to let him go again. Blackwell is a better player right now.

I wouldn’t. He’s an injured malcontent with a huge contract who will require major surgery coming off a horrendous year. And that’s assuming he’s willing to do what NYR suggests about the injury and doesn’t throw a fit about their opinion.

Francis was already the GM of Seattle when we traded for Gauthier. Don Wadell was already Carolina's GM by then.

He wasn’t with Carolina when they traded Gauthier.

BS twitter or not, Eichel is the last thing I want for this team. Blowing their load on an overpaid disgruntled star with a career threatening injury and screwing over our cap for the next 5 years in the process is such a Classic Rangers move that it makes me want to puke. Couldn't think of a worse way to screw up the rebuild.

Am I the only one who thinks we already might have our 2C in Chytil?

All of this sans the horrendous year. It wasn’t that bad.

the thing is if you trade for Eichel and he needs surgery (which I’m 99% sure he does. If he didn’t their FO would let everyone know) you’re either bending to his desires and he misses half of the season, or you go with the standard discectomy and he misses most of the season, or all of it most likely if he so much as has a minor setback and now you have a player with a NMC kicking in who hasn’t taken a shift for you.

we’d be forced to basically self rent Zibanejad instead of monetizing him.

not the path. Replace Strome with a lesser player than Eichel who fits better.

People give Eichel shit for wanting out but seriously have you seen how Buffalo has been run while he's there and continues to be run?

I don't think him being fed up is a black mark agains thim. The team sucks and keeps making dumb and bad decisions over and over instead of building a team he can succeed on and this injury thing seems to be the last straw

McDavid hasn’t requested a trade and his management team is just as incompetent.
 
Posting a fake trade on here is like when Jack McCoy would say something to the jury, the defense would object and he would say "Withdrawn" with a smile on his face.

it's funny how people speculate mcjesus should want out bc the oilers keep struggling to get over the hump and it would be justified but eichel who has been done worse in buffalo is a baby and whatever else. guy has seen how bad it can be in this league and i have to imagine he is sick of it and wants to be going the right direction. if the trade is fair i am fine with it

It wasn't even a rumor from the start. It was simply a trade proposal suggestion from RangerBoy that somehow got signal amplified and spread across through twitter as a rumor. The only links to OTT were the previously posted tweets of reported interest in Strome
