It's the Philly and Columbus picks that seem the most odd to me.

There's nothing odd about the Columbus pick. They didn't want any of the available players, so they selected a guy they have no obligation to keep.

I get them not wanting Domi, yet they could have taken (stolen from the trade thread) Stenlund who has a completely bury-able cap hit and only signed for one more year.

McCann, Tanev. Sounds like they'd be in on Schwartz. Probably will look to take on some big ticket wingers with some draft picks. JVR etc.

Donskoi, Jarnkrok, Tanev, Gourde, McCann all at least have played LW. Gourde and McCann likely play center unless other trades and signings shake things up.

For comparison, after the expansion draft in 2017 Vegas traded 4 of their 13 drafted defensemen--TVR, Methot, Schlemko and Emelin.

Looks like Seattle has selected 11 so far this year.

Stenlund and Carlsson are just better selections that wouldn't cost them anything to have in the AHL. It's a bit of a head scratcher. So is the Quenville pick. And the Philly pick.

I'm disappointed the whole list came out before the draft. Was looking forward to watching and trying to piece it all together live.

I know the Giordano talks. But Seattle has already invested heavily in Oleksiak and is rumored to pick McDermid from LAK. Wouldn’t be surprised if McDermid is traded.

One of the absolute worst players in the league. I would rather play Howden regularly than play MacDermid regularly.
