Im gonna join in on this probable unpopular opinion and agree, we have Schneider and i think Kravtsov is severely underrated.

I don't think you're alone... At times, I felt he was the most skilled forward on the team (albeit, in small sample sizes). I would think a new coach could unlock some new levels for the millennial Kovalev (hopefully +).

Addon for Kravtsov... He seems like a nice grounded rink rat that integrates with the rest of our room. You can't have enough smiling, goofy, easy to love characters, very Buch like (one of the reasons why I'd hate to lose him and Strome, but seems like a logical replacement - LAF had those qualities as well).

“Leak this to the fans so they know we tried.”
Rangers made a substantial offer for him last summer. For those who think we have no interest in him, think again. I could see Adams having a hard on the size of the Statue of Liberty for Nils in order to pair him with Dahlin for the next decade. It would also allow them to draft Beniers which would soften the blow of losing Eichel. Those who think the rangers are totally out on him are in for a rude awakening.
As it stand right now, I’m 50/50. If price and his health are acceptable I’d love him to replace Zibby for the reasons that have been beaten to death here for the last few months.
I could see Eichel succeeding here just like Dvo. Get him into a better environment surrounded with more elite talent and he could just explode.
Here Eichel wouldn’t have to be captain jack expected to carry the brunt of the offense. Him and LaF or him and Kakko can have some serious chemistry, and then panarin line comes out.
For sure there are a lot of concerns/risks, but the reward could be an offensive juggernaut as well.

If Seattle wanted to, they could easily be better than the Canucks, Kings, Sharks, and Ducks. With so much leverage and control over how to build their roster and even flipping players then fencing their own assets and picks for certain other players, they can easily be top 3 in the division if they are able to sign Landeskog and a few other high value UFAs.

Am I weird for being not as worried about our state of contracts, since medium term cap is gonna skyrocket once TV Deal money and post-COVID flattening ends? If anything, the next 2-3 years might be a PERFECT time to lock up some long term deals (i.e. Kakko, LAF, Fox, Zibby, etc) or a trades for long term signed players (i.e. Eichel) :naughty:
If there’s one thing these front offices know, it’s contracts. We fans aren’t going to catch anything the FO doesn’t already know so it’s best to avoid wasting any time stressing over it. Sure, they will sometimes be forced into a remedial move or something but it’s never worth worrying about. As for Goodrow, safe to say it’s under control. Worst case, they can’t agree and we’ve lost a seventh rounder.

The reason you hear guys like Makar and Tkachuk talking about taking less than 8 years is they see where the cap will eventually start moving. And once it moves, it will move fast. Paying back the owners is depressing the cap $3-4 MM a year right now. Once the debt is paid off and the new TV money is completely cooked in, the cap will quickly go up quite a bit. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see Fox, Kakko and others follow the same route.

One things the owners and GMs already know is what the cap might look like in 5 years.
Exactly. I think there are a lot of people here who offer a lot of top level hockey insight…but two things i discount on fan boards are injury and contract talk. We just don’t have much insight day to day and those are very fluid discussions.
