Not for nothing but if you listen to that segment of the Friedman/Marek pod talking about Deslauriers, Friedman specifically says that he messed up a Deslauriers trade at the deadline and that he heard Deslauriers was weird reacting about it or something and then he speculates if someone might trade a 1st for him.
So he says that he got something wrong in the past about Deslauriers, Deslauries was hurt by it or something to that effect, and then Friedman publicly says player could be worth more than anyone would think.
Reading between the lines, it seems like Friedman may be trying to get some goodwill with Deslauriers and his agents (prob more importantly there) by pumping his tires publicly after saying he did wrong by him in the past and he felt bad about it.
