so maybe my offer was too high for him, but I like him as a target. I know people mention Chytil as well, but he would also have to improve his 2 way game and face offs to get to that level, could he? possibly he is young enough. Its could also be he is better as a winger.

I agree with you. I’m on the Dvo train as an excellent option for 2C. Like Bobhop said, he’s a calculated risk. No guts no glory. Get him out of that shit heap, stick him with Panarin/ Kakko/ Kravtsov. And watch his game prosper. He’s got a lot of talent. And people looking for a player to do the dirty work on panarins line, Dvo fits that to a T.
Like I said he’d be cheaper then other options, because he is less proven atm, but not less talented. He got a lot more parallels in his game to guys like ROR and Cirelli then people realize. He’s just stuck in ARI

So what is a realistic offer? if AZ is trading Dvorak signed for 4 more years at 4.5M they are clearly rebuilding and looking for futures. I know people said Krav and Schneider was too high but that was for both Dvorak and Garland, if its just Dvorak its lower.

I said it and will die on the hill. I don't like what he brings, the cost, and the potential for a bad injury.

Let him go be LA or Minnesota or Washington's problem.

I’d guess chytil plus 15 gets it done. I try to get Crouse too.
 


I'm guessing that Seattle wants this out there to try to scare Montreal so they can extract a pick out of them to stay away from Price. Would be monumentally stupid of them to take on Price.

I'm torn on Chytil, I have seen the metrics but I also dont know if he'll turn into a "complete" center. A center is more than points.. of course he's still really young so its not like he can't, but he could also be better suited for a wing

Chytil had all the tools to be a pretty good 2 way player.

people are hung up on his lack of vision. Goal scoring centers are a thing too.

I’m not saying chytil can’t be that guy, eventually. But Dvorak is an upgrade in every way right now. If he had a 60pt season under his belt, the cost to get him would be much higher
Rangers have 2 options.
Promote chytil and give him a heavy dose of minutes with breadman
Or
Upgrade the position

Fast got $2M last off-season before the true market depression was realized.

Goodrow's playoffs experience is worth $2M+? I don't buy it. If he wants a long term deal, Sissons is the comp... no?

I'd let him go to FA than and see if some team offers him 4M+. Teams are strapped for cap around the league (unless he wants to play on a bottom feeder after winning 2 cups)

A nice little wrinkle to him panning out is there's really big surplus value in soft playmaking wingers in that there are typically more of them than there are spots, and their lack of goal scoring depresses their contracts. You really need the 3rd guy to hold it together though.

Goodrow was worth a 1st rounder in trade. Fast was worth a 3rd.
