I mean, with his usage he hasn’t gotten a lot of chances to score goals
I think it’s more he isn’t considered reliable defensively and has taken some dumb penalties often

Offensively he has done what people would want of him considering usage I think

I can't agree. He played with Chytil more than a third of his ice time last season. What opportunities should he get before producing anything?

I mean Strome is older, but 15 could entice AZ and maybe a defensive prospect, it could be an overpay but Strome is a year from FA (AZ could sign him to reach the cap floor) Dvorak has a solid contract for a 2C here.. could even expand it to include Garland (who is also rumored to be going out)..

Dvorak + Garland price = Eichel and certainly a lesser cost to get it done.

I really doubt he’s not at least a 60pt center with the breadman, most likely more, while playing a solid game everywhere else on the ice including the dot. Why would that be bad??

maybe but he's also better on face offs, better defensively and if he gets 15 to 20 points playing with Panarin you're looking at a 60 point 2 way center signed for 4 more years at 4.5

so maybe my offer was too high for him, but I like him as a target. I know people mention Chytil as well, but he would also have to improve his 2 way game and face offs to get to that level, could he? possibly he is young enough. Its could also be he is better as a winger.

Jack Eichel's shots against numbers were amazing though. It was the same deal with Hughes on the Devils and our Lindgren-Fox defensive pairing: control the play with the guy on the ice, clown show with the guy on the bench.

I think the assessments of how this team needs a ton of "defensive forwards" are a little off. Going long on Ryan Strome was probably never a great idea. Getting a vet bottom six forward like Goodrow to PK and win puck battles is a good idea if it's not one of those day one stupid bottom six contracts. But it's becoming a monomania around here.

Still not giving up Schneider who has consistently every year gotten better and Kravy who i admit, im in love with lol for DVO. Hes a #2/#3 tweener. Again Kravy is a top 20 prospect in the LEAGUE. If we can get Larkin who is a top 25 center for the 15th and Kravy. Then why do you believe DVO is worth more than him? Garland sure as hell doesnt make up the difference since he will be a UFA after this upcoming season.

If you want DVO that bad the most id offer is Jones and the 15th, Not a penny more. I dont think he has the talent offensively to be a 2nd line center. But again thats a different story.

Don’t think it cost Schneider unless your trying to get Garland as well. They will ask for chytil. Younger, cheaper replacement who could be better in time, but is not currently. I don’t care about the metric numbers. Dvorak plays with shit wingers on an offensively inept team, against every other teams best D pairs

Eichel is better defensively than he gets credit for...Zibanejad the opposite.

That's definitely a loss in a trade for us unless theres something else coming back. I wouldnt mind gourde but not for that price.
