Would Goodrow be playing with Panarin? He seems like the guy who would do the dirty work for the line. He's more of a winger these days, no?

At the same time, I feel like Kreider-Chytil-Goodrow could be a real tough line to play against.

Still think people are undervaluing chemistry in regards to Strome. I don't buy the idea that anyone at all would mesh that well with Panarin. I like the stability there and I don't think he'd ever be terribly expensive.

Oh but he will be expensive. He will get likely what Buch is looking at, 6m per. thats to much for a player who is severly one dimensional. He cant even play the center position.

The issue with Strome is a contract.
The issue with Chytil is even if he gets to the point level of Strome he's still too much like Strome.

Rangers have to find a way to get different down the middle.

I think he fits the kind of player Panarin likes playing with, but I really like that 3rd line too..

Rangers aren't in "cup contention" but they SHOULD be taking the "next step" which is to try to get into the playoffs contention. You dont "empty the farm" for that, but if you can sort out the center situation that goes a long way in helping then trying to find one 2 years down the line when you're looking to be a cup contender.

I think Goodrow would fit on Panarin's opposite wing well in way that the Rangers were looking for.

How many days til the expansion draft? if I'm Seattle I'm talking with Landeskog alot and if he's willing to sign what they offer he's obviously the pick

I think people need to stop bringing up STL , they are the outlier of winning a cup.

You need to be strong down the middle to win a cup. This dont mean you need 2 1Cs etc, but you damn sure need to be strong down the middle.

Lets get back at Tampa and trade for Yanni...sign Coleman along with Barclay..Tampa North..3rd line

St.Louis rolled a dominating ROR-Schenn pair and Tampa has been using the buzzsaw of Stamkos-Point to run teams through the ringer

We NEED Eichel-Zibanejad

It's as dominant as dominant can get

Stamkos plays more wing now than C.

Cirelli is the 2c.

No we don't.

No one would have called Schenn or ROR a #1 center prior to that run. Hell if we got pre cup ROR right now you'd cry about it.

Stamkos isn't even the center on his line, Cirelli is. Stamkos played 1 period when they went on their run last year. He was largely invisible this year.

null and void.

Yes, we're talking about Buch for centers who aren't even likely to be available (Horvat, how available is Larkin?, etc). The guys we KNOW are available are Eichel/Strome/chytil the last 2 because we have them and are looking for someone to put behind Zibanejad different. Eichel for obvious reasons. Dvorak's name has been out there.

again, we're going to have to move at least 2-3 people to really change anything about this team.

Even if Chytil moves up to 2C, he's not exactly great defensively and we'll need a 3 as a safety net who can move up into a 2C role at times.

There is no perfect option, but if we are taking even our 4th/5th best young player/prospect off the table, we likely aren't getting much different.
I think moving buch and a trade for a center are two completely different moves. They may be linked because we then have a roster spot or additional prospects for the center move, but there not one deal.
