yes please.

I mean Strome is older, but 15 could entice AZ and maybe a defensive prospect, it could be an overpay but Strome is a year from FA (AZ could sign him to reach the cap floor) Dvorak has a solid contract for a 2C here.. could even expand it to include Garland (who is also rumored to be going out)..

Dvorak + Garland price = Eichel and certainly a lesser cost to get it done.

again, just spitballin

okay lol.

I guess you missed the part where I said they need to get someone else. Not run with Zib-Chytil-Goodrow. That someone could be gourde, Larkin, lindholm, Danault, etc. it doesn’t have to be a huge name, we have those already.

Eichel isn’t the answer. Never has been.

-Gourde isn't happening, Seattle would be keeping him anyways and if he stays with Tampa they'll find a way to keep him.

-Larkin is and never was happening. Detroit is a couple years away from being dangerous again and he's their newlywed C. Stuff it back in the dream box

-Lindholm is a HUGE maybe. CGY would most likely move Monahan before anyone else and their in a weird limbo stage of not knowing if they should retool or stay put

-Danault is likely as he'll be hitting the market but it seems more like he'll be headed out west or staying in MTL since they'll be able to overpay whatever he wants now that Price will be gone.

It's either Eichel/Kuznetsov or some other unknown C we haven't heard about like Schief in WPG

So, theoretically, a 3way trade between Seattle, Detroit and us can still happen, right? before the trade freeze is lifted?

Have a funny feeling the reason Strome is being shipped out so soon is because Drury has a deal for Eichel or another #1 C in place. I expected to move Strome at a later time next season near the TDL but it looks like maybe Drury wants to free up $4M quickly......I wonderrrr why
I think there are 2 parts coming up:
Part 1 is to move Strome for a LD and more bottom 6 truculence
Part 2 is to backfill C with Buch+

Ottawa was in on Strome earlier in the year, as we discussed on here. They went for the cheaper option at the time, so not terribly surprised they are back to him.
I was looking at this yesterday and the pick Ottawa gave up for Stepan turned out to be 37th. o_O

What's Colin White's deal in Ottawa? I guess the Rangers wouldn't be looking at him if they're trying to clear salary, but how did he get that much money/how did he fall off that fast?

No clue why Ottawa would be trading futures for now players but I'm not gonna sit here and question it if a good deal is out there.

I like Strome but it is time to move on. You can't keep the same line up if you want change. You can't have your top 2 centers hitting UFA on the same date.

Chytil is improving. I don't know how his 3rd line production will translate on the 2nd line, and it's not as simple as increasing ice time to increase the point total. There are match up issues. BUT you have to gamble on the kids. If Chytil and Kakko and Lafreniere can't replace Strome and Buchnevich and Kreider, you're done anyway.

So was fooling around

I guess value may be off? admittedly I dont know much about Garland but he seems like a decent player but Yotes can't sign him for whatever reason.

Strome, Krav, 15 and Schneider for Dvorak and Garland. too little, too much?

Panarin-Zib-Garland
Laf-Dvorak-Kakko
Kreider-Chytil-Goodrow
Barron-Bellemare-Rooney

Lindgren-Fox
Miller-Trouba
Mccabe-Nils
Shesty
Kinkaid

signed Garland - 4.25X4
signed Goodrow 3.15 X 5
signed Bellemare 1.5 X 2
signed Mccabe 2.25 X 2

22M next year to sign Fox/Zib and give raises to Kakko (that is def doable)
33M the following year when Laf/Miller due for deals.

Haven't made a Buch deal yet (not sure who is interested and what the return we're looking for).

They could be looking for a vet to shelter and mentor the kids, plus they might be able to flip him for more at the deadline.

so whats a more realistic offer for both? my idea behind it was Dvorak + Garland is less than Eichel and you fill 2 spots. 2C and Garland can replace Buch (if he's too expensive) so that Kravtsov isn't thrown into a top 6 role right away

You made the team worse and traded huge promising future pieces to do it
