The Rangers flip picks with Ottawa in the first round. The Rangers move up to #10 to take Johnson, Svechkov or Sillinger. Maybe MacTavish if he slips. Those players probably won't be available at the Rangers pick. You never know how teams are setting their draft boards after this season. The Rangers select a top center in the draft and they trade for another center (not the guy in Buffalo) using their other assets.

Have a funny feeling the reason Strome is being shipped out so soon is because Drury has a deal for Eichel or another #1 C in place. I expected to move Strome at a later time next season near the TDL but it looks like maybe Drury wants to free up $4M quickly......I wonderrrr why
Maybe it’s just because he’s soft, takes bad penalties, and his stock hasn’t been higher since he was drafted.

In theory it's good, but aside from Kent Johnson, I wouldn't trade up for any of those guys. And I think packaging 15 with Strome to move up 5 spots is not good asset management.

Have not posted in a long time but I was thinking amongst all this Eichel talk.

Would it not be better to just try and back up the truck for Barkov? Panthers have to know they are not winning a cup with that group.

If you're moving Strome alone you aren't getting an upgrade over him, you're doing it to move salary out and take back picks/prospects/young ELC players.

Strome is our 2C at the moment. We wouldn't move him unless we are getting a large upgrade somewhere down the middle.

Could totally see Drury trading Strome for futures or a young C and then trading Chytil+Buchnevich for Eichel.

As is, rolling

Eichel
Zibanejad
Goodrow

down the middle 3 is a massive upgrade over years past and we're instantly contenders

But on a few mock drafts I’ve seen Raty and/or Svechkov drop to 16 or lower. Wouldn’t we be fine with either of those?

Maybe Gauthier isn't going to put it together. What does he have, 1 goal in his career?
2 in 47 games. But that's Quinn's fault. Garbage coach. And also Brind'Amour. Two garbage coaches. If he's not successful under the next one that coach is obviously garbage too.

She is absolutely clueless, I remember during training camp she was tweeting calling players the wrong names, like posting a video of Buchnevich calling him Kakko. And when she was posting line-ups she had some forwards as defensemen. I don't know how she even has a job that has anything to do with hockey. Don't take her word for anything LOL
