If signed, Goodrow gives the team options. He's 52% on face offs for his career (~2000 attempts). If they keep Strome or bring in a new center, Goodrow could easily play on the wing of a center who is less than ideal at the dot. I like it. Options are good.

Because he's a guy you win with. Don't get me wrong, 6 is wayyyy too many years for him, but that's the reason why teams want this guy.

Like I said earlier, there were several deals lined up for expansion draft deal purposes that presumably fell through. Some will likely be revisited - both before and after the entry draft and into FA. Plus there are many other opportunities. We are not done yet. Not by a long shot.

AFAIK no, can't even sign your protected players.

I would say they are somewhat similar. Goodrow has an edge that we need right now
