I understand your take, I’m just not there. No harm bud, I am totally about patience with kids as they develop, but I also look for kids to have personal responsibility regarding how they control their own parts of their development and if you see significant flashes in NHL games of what made them stand out prior to getting to the NHL. This is where I get so frustrated with laffy because I typically don't see any of that and now with some of the comments being made about his conditioning both here and more strikingly by valley publicly it just feels like a kid that was made to feel very comfortable with his position within this organization without having to actually earn a damn thing. To me that's just another example of the entitlement around here. There are players all over the place that are drafted without even a 10th of the hope and hype of this kid that are busting their asses all the time and working hard to earn even a third line spot. This kid from day one just always seems like he fit in great with the group but he never had to earn his place in the group. Kakko feels like he's constantly had to earn his place within the group because for whatever reason the team's highest paid player doesn't want to play with him, but even with that I still feel like KK shows flashes at the NHL level of the same player that he was before he got here. You can see those parts of his game that can distinguish him as he evolves more. Now one of the things that people constantly disregard when talking about these two guys is that kakko is a year older and has one extra year of NHL development at this point, but I really felt that this past season was going to be a massive season for laffy, More so than kakko because I still felt that even though kakko was struggling to fully establish himself he had demonstrated his tools at this level that will eventually put him into a role to be a contributor on a good team. 2 years ago I said he looked like he could be nichuskin. Now is that the player that you're hoping to get with the second overall pick, no, but it's still a very important player on a winning team and we saw that last year. Right now when you look at laffy I struggled to see those pieces that tell you that you're looking at a guy who's definitely going to be a top six player that makes an impact in some manner. I hope it's there and I hope he wants to put the work in to show it but I'm not convinced
I don’t think we want anything to do with a long-term Lindgren UFA contract, no matter the goalieSo without Lindgren you want to make the defense worse and give Igor more shots on net against. Yea lets rely on goalie again.
Can Gudas play LD. I know he is RD. I would love Gudas on the Rangers only if he can play LD. Imagine Lindgren and Gudas, Trouba, Schneider on the same team.
You wouldn’t take Michkov?I'm curious how much people would add to laffy and chytil for the #2 pick this year to draft Fantilli
I would add Panarin.I'm curious how much people would add to laffy and chytil for the #2 pick this year to draft Fantilli
So you’re saying he’s been getting worse every year??? Trade him Drury!!!!And why is that a problem when in Panarin's career as a Ranger at 5v5 he has a 66.4, 60.0, 59.0, and 54.3 GF%? You might not like how it looks stylistically but it has worked.
Woll is off to the KHL after that mogging. We need this guy. Don't care about his corgi, gap control, per 60, edge work, tensile strength or shear resistance. As long as he does THIS every time the Rangers score.

I doubt either players signs that long for that cheap. Haula is a 40pt player you’re def not getting him for 2mil. Fast is a better version of goodrow and will look for at least his $Need to ship goodrow out and get one of haula/fast for 3 X $2
We have to get over the new age skill. They don’t win.Interesting.
How about Lafreniere plus our 22nd/23rd overall for a pick around the 10ish range if Michkov falls? Would never happen still tho

Panarin’s even strength GF% was 42.86% in this year’s playoffs. Shockingly, it was identically horrible in last year’s playoffs as well.
More concerning though is that his xGF% was 26.96% (!!!!!!!!!!!!!WTF!!!!!!!!!!), down from a lofty 37.35% in last year’s playoffs.
It’s almost like that all world goalie the Rangers have might have something to do with the metric you’ve decided to try to belittle people with.
We have to get over the new age skill. They don’t win.
Get me a Tkachuk or Kreider with relentless energy if available.
I still have hope that Laffy and Kakko mature into those types.
Huh. I’d love to know more about my misunderstanding. There is absolutely nothing worse in hockey than people who try to post stats and use "Even Strength" instead of 5v5 or "Powerplay instead of "5v4." All it does is show a blatant lack of understanding of what you are looking at - regardless of whether or not the point is correct.
A close second would be referring to things in a 7 game sample.
Not to mention the numbers I did post were both at 5v5 and in the regular season (because again, irrelevant playoff sample samples).
I would want to but how long has this franchise been looking for an elite home grown center? I still see chytil as a 3c that can play up in spurts. Fantilli could come in here and work his way to be the long term 1c possibly even before Mika starts to fall off. This franchise has been missing a center for sooo long. Love michkov though, but can't see this team having the patience to wait for him which is also unfortunateYou wouldn’t take Michkov?
I think that the important thing here is that the kid is going to get a clean slate, shockingly he's going to have his third coach in 4 years as a pro which is borderline dysfunctional for young kids, but he really has to be looking at this like it's time for him to take control of his own career and make a statement to whoever gets hired and earn it. If he comes into camp and looks like the same player that he has the first 3 years then I think all the alarm bells start to go off. Let's see what he does with thisI understand your take, I’m just not there.
I agree he needs to work harder , especially in this off-season. Even if he THOUGHT he was working hard enough he should realize, or heaven forbid be INSTRUCTED, that he needs to take it up a notch or three.
I wanted him at the deadline. I’d move Goodrow to sign Domi. Domi can skate be a prick like his dad was at times has a bit of that in him. Rangers can use that to get life into this team and he can play. His dad played here and was a fan favorite. Would be a good PR story.I'd take Max Domi.
He looks like a gamer to me. He's great depth.
Panarin being awful in the playoffs, with us, something the eye test and analytics can agree onHuh. I’d love to know more about my misunderstanding.
I use even strength instead of five on five to increase the sample size.
Over the last two playoffs, Panarin has played 27 games and has nearly 450 minutes of even strength ice time. Hardly an inconsequential sample size.
His GF% and xGF% is 42% and 35% respectively.
For as much as the top end of the draft was a disaster under JD and Gorton, the middle rounds were just as bad, if not worse.
This organization needs to start hitting on some 2nd and 3rd rounders, and even 4th through 7th rounders once in a while. It's looking more promising under Drury so far, but let's see.
What would it take to get Harley from Dallas? They're stacked at LHD and he's exactly what we could use.
I don't want to give up Othmann.
Best I can do is Goodrow and Jones.
