Well, he scored 39 points n 81 games. In his contract season Kakko scored 18 points in 43 games. So yeah it’s not out of line to think Laf might get a bit more. Why does Lafrenière deserve more than Kakko again?

Again not seeing a huge difference here. You double the games its similar points and again Kakko is superior all aroundWell, he scored 39 points n 81 games. In his contract season Kakko scored 18 points in 43 games. So yeah it’s not out of line to think Laf might get a bit more.
Again, the points are SIMILAR with Laf being a bit higher, and the pay will be similar with Laf being a bit higher. IMO in his contract season, Kakko was not superior all around to Laf in his. But it’s a subjective call so you are free to think so. Regardless, it’s really pretty easy to see why Laf would get a bit more. I find it completely un confusing. hahaha. Laf scored about 11.5 percent more ppg than Kakko in their contract years, was more physical, and stayed healthy. I don’t expect him to get a LOT more than Kakko, but yeah, a bit.Again not seeing a huge difference here. You double the games its similar points and again Kakko is superior all around
There are plenty of “stupid fascinations” by this fan base. Preferring Patrick Kane over Jimmy Vesey in the Top 9 is not one of them. It just isn’t. Thanks for bringing up Tarasenko’s “regression”, he is still 10x better than Vesey. Love the spin job you are doing sharing that article to bring Tarasenko down. Certainly there is one puck but when you have more talent on the ice you have a better chance of possessing that puck and keeping it.This fanbase and their stupid fascination with Tarasenko and Kane.
I read this today

Analyzing what UFA forward Vladimir Tarasenko would bring to a new team
Perhaps the most surprising development of NHL free agency so far is that Vladimir Tarasenko still does not have a contract. Eventually, he will be signed, and Adam Vingan examines what exactly he will be bringing to his new team.www.sportsnet.ca
Tararsenko regression. He can still finish but the rest of his game is declining.

Kane wasn’t much better.

There is one puck. There are so many shifts per game. There are so many opportunities per game. The forwards need to be slotted better. The Rangers young guys need to get more opportunities.
Kane and Vesey could make the same $800,000 but their roles are different.
This topic is annoying.

Why can't there be another option aside from Vesey, Kane or Tarasenko?
Goodrow… apparently he’s very important to DrurySuch as?

Tarasenko is far from washed.Kane is washed. Tarasenko is washed. That's it. That's the post. There's nothing else.
Lots of guys can have 50 points with enough ice time and other people doing the leg work. From what he was? He's washed, whether physically or mentally.Tarasenko is far from washed.
i never thought about that, but there's probably something to it. if nothing else it's some extra ice time and a confidence boost for the staff to give that responsibility. oddly enough, and i'm sure many might disagree, but i really don't like kreider on the pk. i know he's had most of our shg's and is a threat in that way, but defensively i feel like he's not very good. he isn't very good with his stick either knocking pucks loose or getting it in lanes to deflect/intercept/prevent passes. he's often running around because he doesn't read the play all that well and doesn't keep body control which leaves him flat footed and unable to get to loose pucks or close on guys quickly. he does have his good qualities like being able to skate pucks free, waste some time, and obviously with his speed when he gets up to it, he does present a threat going the other way. i would just prefer someone like kakko getting his regular mins there and giving him a 3rd group / replacement if a regular is in the box. i see the upgrade in hockey sense / ability to get sticks on pucks, under control play and reliability on the walls, puck control /ability to rag pucks down low for extended periods, and an upgrade in overall offensive ability though downgrade in speed / poor history in the type of chances pk's typically can generate...i just see kakko as the better option. jt on the other hand still hurts my heart...av should be charged with war crimes for his mishandling of that kid. he was so obviously one of our most talented and effective playersSometimes guys really find their games on the PK. I think it helped Kreider and JT. Even though down a man it feels like there is more open ice. Usually you only have to beat 1-2 dman since fowards are not concentrating on defense during that 2 minutes.
Kane is irrelevant until Dec at least anyway it’s already been said he won’t sign until he’s healthy lots can happen by then

Laviolette needs to instill in Panarin to stop passing up great chances and shoot the puck. He can score goals ya know..
Haha. I’m the inverse. I respect @bernmeister but not all his opinions. But that’s what makes this place fun!Berne I always respected your opinion, but do not agree with your proposal from Kings point of view.
Kings did not trade Byfield for PLD, they traded Vilardi instead.
LA considers Clarke to be untouchable in trades. He is the only possible 1D on the team.
Shesty is great goalie, but Kings will not trade those assets for him.
P.S. ZJ is not needed in LA.
I’m gonna say he’s a rich man’s Claessen.Without seeing him play a lot my impression is Gustafson probably plays “ok” defense overall for a 3rd pairing when you grade it all out on average but makes some
Noticeable mistakes that gives him the “bad defensively” label
I feel the direct opposite. Dude is gonna feel great and be carrying a massive chip on his shoulder. The more I hear about Kane's injury and everything the less I want him back under any circumstances
When this board last pronounced Tara as washed after his second shoulder surgery, he put up 34 goals and 82 points. We could use more ‘washed’ players like Tara.Lots of guys can have 50 points with enough ice time and other people doing the leg work. From what he was? He's washed, whether physically or mentally.
