I've thought this out and there are no holes to be poked. Both teams are butt cised to initiate the trade call. Only assumption I'm making is that Chicago isn't on Goodrow's no trade list.

Goodrow and a mid round pick for Tyler Johnson.

Reactions: Good Intentions
We've failed to draft an NHL regular outside the 1st round since Igor in 2014.
I don't expect Dolan to be this in deep as to why Gorton and JD were fired, but Gorton took over starting with the '16 draft. From that moment, Morgan Barron is the only non-first rounder to do anything in the league. Oddly enough his best class might be his last (Berard, Cuylle, Garand).

Drury and the new scouting at least have a few guys that look like they'll crack the NHL for more than a cup of coffee.

Sykora will be an NHLer, it's a matter of time and health. BMB has a shot since he has filled multiple roles at lower levels. Chmelar's stock has only risen. Vaisanen has done solid too.

We need a few of these guys to hit. Because the drafts from 2018-2020 haven't produced beyond R1, we needed all these vets. Hopefully Cuylle is a full timer soon, same for Berard.

I love the balls on Zadina right now - passing up $4.5m to gamble on himself. I hope it works out for him.

He wants to be in NY. Take advantage of the market suppressing salaries. Trade Goodrow and Re-sign Tarasenko at a bargain. Give him a 1 year deal and let him test again next offseason

Should trade goodrow regardless - getting Tank back would be icing

Hypothetically…if a team signed Tarasenko could they turn around and flip him to us at 50% retention?

Do you look at more than just the total points?

His 5 on 5 play has declined every year. He turns the puck over way too much and he has become a perimeter player who doesn't backcheck consistently.

Look at the numbers I posted earlier in the thread:

Actually watch him play and you will see it. He puts up points because he is talented and gets the most ice time of any forward on the team, both even strength and on the PP. That doesn't mean he's playing as well as he should be.
I watch every game. He can be maddeningly lazy at times. He remains the best ufa signing in franchise history.

I believe so but Cap space has a massive premium. IT'd probably cost at least our 2nd rounder for a 1-2 year deal.

I've been wanting our GM to become shrewd and creative. we wont even abuse the LITR loophole when it's actually pertinent
