Roster Building Thread VI (2022-23): Offseason edition

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. I’m holding out hope there’s so many teams with little space that some bargains sign with NYR

The advantage they have is they can offer bubble players nhl contracts and bury them in the AHL for depth

Could see them giving more guaranteed yrs at lower salaries

I don't think Senko is going to cost more than 4.5M, he might even take a little less just to stay in the area. They have 10M to sign Bastian, McLeod, Boqvist, and Bahl.
Tatar, Wood, and Graves are all seemingly gone.

It'd be tight for them but I wouldn't be shocked in the slightest to see them convince Vlad to sign. Also pissing off the Rangers and it's entire fanbase has value in itself.

I don't see why we can't keep Tarasenko, no matter how tight it gets. Anything to maintain more depth at RW going into the season, otherwise it's just a wildcard for us on that side and it's putting a mountain of pressure on Kakko (he probably can handle it).
My ideal scenario, you give Miller 3 years at 4M, Laf 2 years at 2M, and you pencil Tarasenko in at 3.5M for 2. Drury really should find a way to keep 1 of Kane/Senko

Man Mrs. Tarasenko must really love NYC for her husband to take that kind of a deal leaving a possible 15 million dollars on the table.

As I've said before , i think we have our team set already minus a couple cheap players and some try outs. This team will only be elite when the kids are ready. We need to start fast tracking their progress and prepare the next wave as well, ie Othmann, Skykora, Perrault etc. The season depends on Laf, Chytil, Kakko, Cullye, Jones or Robertson all stepping up and making the next step

Rangers won't need much cap room. Ton of guys available and not many spots for em. Bargains galore.
 
I would not mind Anderson-Dolan. He still has potential upside at 23. Worth a shot. Center depth can’t hurt. Cheap bargain player.

If we drafted this dude there would be a massive uproar - every team so good at player development.
 


Good asset move by the leafs. Someone will give them a 4th in a year and a half for Reaves.
