I would not say Hall's contract is bad. That is not fair. They are just in a really tough spot. If they can now trade Forbort and Reilly while resigning Clifton they will be in a good spot to put their team back together. Hall was a luxury they can't afford at this point.

Man I’m kinda curious what the value of Lindgren would be (are we losing him after next year? Is he heading for a Girardi like contract bc of how he plays?).

Provorov got 22, a second and whatever else. Lindgren is 3M and a RFA next year.

Seems dmen are going for good returns.

I know it won’t happen

Hall wasn’t on the first line, and didn’t stay healthy (which has been most of his career)
And still was about a .05 ppg guy.
Which is what he is with one big exception. But to pull that off on the 2nd or 3rd line is solid.

Hall had 36 points in 61 games and makes 6M

Drury is focusing on the draft as he should.. He will draft another Othmann type hopefully and that’s it. I don’t see much moves, until the players quit on this coaching staff. If Drury can find a way to move up that would be great but I doubt he can find a away to make that happen.

Firing Gallant was the big move this summer. Other than signing a Motte, Kirivanta, Acciari, etc, there's no room for much else.

They're giving this core one more shot under a new coach, not that they have a choice with the cap being what it is.

I'd trade Lindgren for a pick in the teens this year without hesitation. Teams looking for a defenseman in that range may look to get an established product with team control beyond this year rather than wait 2 or 3 years for Simashev, ASP, or Wallinder to marinate.

That, or deal Lindgren and Goodrow to Anaheim for a 2023 2nd and Cam Fowler at 50% retained.

Chicago looking for the quick turnaround.

Call them and see if they want Goodrow too.

Foligno definitely adds an element of leadership. Goodrow would add to that and be able to do that dirty work/forechecking.

I haven't seen much of Chicago this year, but judging by the 3rd/4th lines they rolled out to end the season, they could use him.

I can’t see foligno signing with them.

I fall in to this category as well. I'd then turn around and sign Mikkola to a short term deal

Yup. He has been over 0.5 PPG his entire career. And he has been a playoff performer every year he has gone to the playoffs. 6 million is the exact amount a player like Hall would make in my opinion. Basically, exactly like Kreider's contract. It's just Boston is in a pinch at the moment and can't afford Hall as a luxury, likely hoping that players like Debrusk and Frederic can replace that production with increased minutes.

Or they do trade both those D men and they sign Bertuzzi.

If I am trading Lindgren I am not doing it to re-sign Mikkola. If I am trading Lindbergh I am trading him for a similarly priced puck mover. But ironical Lindgren was the Rangers second best puck mover by a wide margin so go figure

I overheard a Bruin fan talk about how they were going to trade Hall, Ullmark and Lindholm before the season started while I was out to dinner on Saturday.

He was plastered and figured he was talking out of his ass. Maybe he knew something.

Can’t see them moving ullmark, but swayman is a possibility.
Lindholm is making a bunch but he’s also perfect for that system

Yeah he seemed like he was just drunk and scapegoating certain people bc of what happened last year but I’m going to laugh my ass off if this dude actually had an in with the Bruins.

For me, it would be create some cap space. Jones would be in to help with the puck movement.

I'd be looking at a couple of picks for Lindgren and then looking to sign or trade for someone who fits a longer term vision at RW. Say Garland.

No. Not doing this. They need more than just Jones to help with this. This is still a win now team, you can’t trade your second best Dman for a cap dump when you are that shallow at that position. Lindgren only makes sense if they are moving him for an around 3m (or lower) puck mover. No other move makes sense

I worry about the impact to the room if we move Lindgren. So ideally if you're going to do it, you do it soon and allow players to get over it before the season starts.

Freeing up that LD spot to add a guy like Hanifin could make sense.

I'm expecting better things from Trouba and Schneider to help here. Along with improvement from Miller and injecting Jones in.

Doe he give you Seth Jones vibes? He does for me
