NHLPA... ran by idiots, pushovers or sellouts.

Bettman manhandled them.
Problem is, the NHL has no problem being the only sport that doesn't care to shut down a full season or half seasons to get whatever they want. So NHLPA basically has to just cave eventually. f*** Bettman and the owners.

By the time the Rangers would face any REAL penalties buying out Goodrow, they’ll either be rebuilding or they just have the kids to pay.

-200K cap hit
-100K cap hit
1,1250,000 cap hit

Then it becomes 3.6..

Trading is the ideal option but buying out needs to be an option too

One young, up and coming team with cap space desperate to make the playoffs is going to bite.

I'm looking at Detroit, Buffalo, Ottawa, and Chicago.

One little complication: 15-team no-trade list.

0 rumors about the Rangers swirling. I'm actually happy about that.

Drury is focusing on the draft as he should.. He will draft another Othmann type hopefully and that’s it. I don’t see much moves, until the players quit on this coaching staff. If Drury can find a way to move up that would be great but I doubt he can find a away to make that happen.

Doubt all of those teams will be on it.

I still see San Jose as a dark horse there. They know him. Grier knows him from his time in NY. I'm sure he and Drury scouted and discussed him. They are going into a rebuild and will need some vets and he is a versatile guy. He will also become a pretty valuable trade chip at some point down the line.

Too early for San Jose.
They’re probably 2-3 years out before wanting a goodrow-esque player.

Not for competing purposes, as a vet leader. Kind of like Craig Rivet in Buffalo or someone like that
I think he’s still too much for them at this point. You get vets to shelter kids, but he’s not that kinda guy.
You have a young team you want the kids to find their voice, see Buffalo and Anaheim.
Sharks also still have hertl and karlsson.
