His p/60 scoring rates are what’s troubling me

He was 18th among centers (p/60) up to the trade deadline. Ended the season with a sputter, but reasonably so given the talent shipped out and Kreider's injury. IIRC he played a few games there with Lemieux on his wing.

Won't lie, I thought for sure it was gonna be Zib with the way they pumped his tires throughout training camp.

Maybe they feel it's one of the guys in the 20-25 bracket but they're waiting until they mature/the old guard (Hank, Staal, Kreider) are all gone. It would be kind of odd seeing a captain named after years of Staal being in a big leadership role.

Yeah. I think so too. I think he's actually a pretty decent player. Aside from the bad penalties (which are often based on reputation; though he has earned that rep) and if course the inconvenient contract. (I hate to whine about what someone's making - everyone should get what they can - but this stinking cap...)

Skjei was rewarded for his regression. I’m on board with all the cutesy stuff with Trouba, but fact is that a more honest story would be harsher. Instead, 76 has been placed in crystal for success. Doesn’t deserve it - and I hope he takes advantage. If not, I’m predicting Hajek to lap him out of a job.

How many modifiers do we need here? Again, I’m not saying he’s bad or even close to bad, I’m worried about him being good enough to be the go-to center on a cup team and I’m worried about him getting paid like he is well into his 30s due to the opportunity he’s going to be in the next three years

And amazed they got rid of the Zaitsev contract and the team that took him is a “rival” and knew that Toronto was having cap issues.
But still believe Toronto has most of their Dmen up for contract after this year

I can't believe there are people pulling for Kreider to be captain. Hes the goofiest mf ever
