Its almost as if they have no intention of keeping him past the deadline
That’s fine, I don’t think it’s a good idea to have him sign long term.

But don’t lie to the us and say “we have no intention to sell off again this year”, when it’s very clear that’s what is going to happen

Where have I heard this before?

Second straight season we come into the year with this hanging over the team.

I don't know how much it's hanging over the team. We have a bunch of young guys who probably don't even fully understand the player movement aspect of life in the NHL, and the veteran guys get it. Kreider will probably be moved in a few months and every that has been around would understand it. It might be hanging over CK, but then again, if the team hasn't even spoken to his camp, he probably knows he's just auditioning for his next team at this point.

Morrow had an ok camp. He probably was here as an option for demoting Smith. I hope he can tough it out in Europe for year, or catch on with a team here.

One of these days, we'll get both Chytil and Andersson impressing at the same time on the Rangers.

I don't have a particular problem with any of the cuts. There's no reason these guys can't be back sooner rather than later; and this is about the long game anyway.

As for Kreider, I still tend to think the idea is to move him when the time right. I don't think they saw something they couldn't live with out on the market, and we'll see what happens. I would have preferred not having this hanging out there, but it is what it is.

At at the same time, who is that coach? Is he sound? What was the problem?

I have no idea. But I do know that the Islanders has really had an worthless approach from the get go. Players that are outspoken often have a bad self esteem. I have no problem with discipline, but when they cut him from camp instantly after over sleeping they humiliated him tremendously in public. And after that there has just been a looooong line of more of the same crap, calling him out in public and humiliating him.

I listened to a few interviews with him, he sounds like a good guy. I am sure he has issues, but I don’t know...
AHL, NHL and IIRC, I believe he even had the cajones to blame Garth Snow at one point.

I really want Ho-Sang or Sprong. I would prefer JHS though. I like his creativity more. Sure the attitude sucks but I think going to a new team and getting that restart button would do well for him. Don’t think we’re getting either even if we put in a claim.

Sprong might be a better option than McKegg. Where is Smith playing though? He might be on the 4th line when ADA is back, and McKegg could be on waivers.

I live in CA and have watched Sprong play with the Ducks. I was fairly unimpressed. I don't think he adds much if he's not contributing offensively. and his offensive impact is mediocre. I'd much much rather have McKegg. McKegg has a much greater impact on the ice on a given shift. The Ducks are a rebuilding team, for them to put Sprong on waivers says a LOT about Sprong.

Strome is the best option at 2C today.... that's not to say he'll definitely be the best option by game 10, 30, or 50.

Chytil and Kravstov will probably both be best served playing in the AHL for a bit. I'm guessing they are both back long term by Christmas, maybe Thanksgiving. It's certainly not the worst thing in the world. Chytil will get more experience at center, and Kravstov will have more time to acclimate himself. I think when Kravstov finally comes up, he won't be going back down...

Maybe the competition for 2C continues in Hartford between Chytil and Kravstov

Good to know Kakko and Andersson aren't lunatics with bad number taste.

Chytil and Kravtsov in the AHL was the right call (disappointed as I may be), and I'm pleasantly surprised the Rangers had the balls to do it.

Howden is Quinn's new Vesey.

Howden not being sent down may be a bigger indictment of Howden than Chytil or Kravtsov. The reason for sending down 72 and 74 was becuase they're viewed as a top 9. But with Howden, they're ok with him taking 4th line minutes...

Wouldn’t surprise me if someone above us snatched him, especially EDM.
