I don't know about either of those.
It depends what 1st you're talking about with Trouba.

This is a very good point . It seems right now nobody wants to touch the puck for the Rangers . Honestly what the frig is wrong with Chytil and Zibs and Kreider ? Those guys should be able to get the puck deep and chase it if they dump at the blueline when they hear footsteps . It is sad watching this hockey . Slow and soft . Bad combo in the playoffs .That as well lol. I know we harp on it a bit but this team is legitmately one of the worst in the NHL including the shit teams at exiting the zone with possession. How can you expect to be an effective 5v5 offense when that is the case? it's no coincidence that the most dynamic the Rangers looked offensively in the past 5 years is when they had Fox and DeAngelo. We need that 2nd and even 3rd option on the back-end who can be a factor from the defensive zone into the neutral zone and then move around the offensive zone and be a threat.

What’s even worse, is, tickets are declining in prices which probably means tons of fans unloading them to likely Devils fans. I fully expect tomorrow night to be the most populated MSG has been with red in awhile.
I just don't get how they went from what they showed in games 1 and 2 to this? I figured the Devils might make adjustments and make this a little bit of a series, but it's gone to a complete 180.None of those guys are "slow".
Unwilling maybe. Slow? No.
The entire team is playing scared. This is the worst Rangers playoff hockey I've watched in quite some time.

Yep. Probably got overconfident after game 2, thought they had this in the bag, then folded the minute things didn't keep going their way in game 3.I think part of the problem is they "expected" to win and the Devils to roll over and play dead. Momentum is hard to get and harder to keep.
True....those three are not slow....but they are double soft then LOL....None of those guys are "slow".

Leetchie, I don't think I know the story of how you became an NYR fan up in PEI. Did you lose a bet? Were you punished for not doing your homework?True

They played like ****, so the Charmin reference is aptLike Charmin
I should have left Brunette out of this post. My primary point was that those dreaming of Quennville next year should pack a lunch.I see no chance Bettman would reinstate Quennville to get back into the game with Bettman’s “good buddy” Dolan. Absolutely no chance.
Quennville may be reinstated for a place like Winnipeg or San Jose but not New York. Absolutely no way.
The alternative to Gallant, should things go that way, is probably Andrew Burnette.
Wasn't in a golf community. He was literally coming from a very popular bar/restaurant establishment in deerfield beach. My parents live a few blocks from where he got pulled over.Lol at Brunette being pulled over on his golf cart. Those good cart communities have people drinking and driving those things all the time
Somehow you typed out this entire list of 1 and 2 OAs and came to the conclusion that the players themselves were the problem, and not the organization they both got drafted into…I don't totally agree with the idea the Rangers didn't fully rebuild. We missed the playoffs for 4 straight years, had an enormous amount of first round picks and acquired a lot of young talent to grow into the new core. The timeline accelerated a bit with Panarin signing but that doesn't mean they didn't rebuild, they did - only a handful of players remained from the old core.
The real problem is that we were extremely unlucky with our drafting in the first round. We won TWO lotteries and picked 1st OA and 2nd OA in consecutive drafts. That happening is usually the lynchpin for a rebuild and sets an organization up for success. We picked the consensus player in both drafts, the player that every single GM in the league would've picked in those places so they weren't bad picks. We just got super unlucky that our picks came at this time. Look at the 1st and 2nd overall players from the last few years:
1st OA:
2013 - MacKinnon
2014 - Ekblad
2015 - McDavid
2016 - Matthews
2017 - Hischier
2018 - Dahlin
2019 - Hughes
2020 - Lafreniere
2021 - Power
2nd OA
2013 - Barkov
2014 - Reinhart
2015 - Eichel
2016 - Laine
2017 - Patrick
2018 - Svechnikov
2019 - Kakko
2020 - Byfield
2021 - Beniers
If you rank all of these player, who do Kakko and Lafreniere finish ahead of? Byfield and Patrick?
Literally every single 1st overall before Lafreniere since 2013 is a star player (I'm not a huge Ekblad guy but he's still a first pair defenseman) with most of them being franchise defining players. You could say the same for half of the players at 2nd overall.
We're the Rangers. Even when we have good luck, it's shit.
why do people think it is so easy to trade Panarin? He has a NMC until the end of his contract and by all accounts he loves living in New York.If we lose 1st round and decide to retool rather than rebuild, heres what I do (wont happens)
1) 3rd round pick for ryan lomberg (tough prick to play against
2) salary dump goodrow
3) trade panarin and clear space to sign max domi and tyler bertuzzi (not realistic due to nmc)
4) sign jesper fast to 3 years $2.25mm cap hit
5) sign erik gustafsson to 4 years 2.25mm cap hit
6) sign bjugstad
