I mean a top-5 goalie, a norris winner and the development of a young, 2nd line? Its not like the Rangers wouldn't be able to keep some vets and build around these guys.
If that's who we're building around as a core group, then we're rebuilding again.

As much as I understand the disappointment with Panarin, I don't understand the readiness to turn the team over to the do-nothing kids.

I wouldn't build a Lego set around Kakko and Lafreniere, nevermind a hockey team.

I’m okay with Kakko. I don’t see it with Lafreniere at all.

Panarin….who else wants him?

We supposedly got bigger and tougher, but now they are way too slow

Who's the projected #1 overall pick in 2024?

I don't see this doomsday scenario to move in that direction though...

Let's say the Rangers decide to move in another direction, it's not going to happen in one off-season. Let's say they find a home for Panarin and Trouba. They will get pieces back for those guys. Trochek, Kreider, Zibanejad would still be here and they would open cap space to pursue other pieces that perhaps fit better.

I think we end up sticking it out with Panarin.

Not just because of the NMC but because there's no sensible path to replacing him. This team is not going to score more without Artemi Panarin, freezing cold take.

I know everyone gets off to their small ice players in the playoffs but I don't exactly see the kids lighting it up on the score sheet with all their checking.

We need to address the underlying reasons our offense doesn't function 5v5.

Panarin isn't one of the reasons.

Panarin is owed a $10M signing bonus for next season. $1M salary. If that bonus is paid on July 1 or July 15, the Rangers could theoretically pay the bonus and trade Panarin if the player agrees to waive his clause. He is owed $2M in salary over the final 2 years of the contract. $9M and $7M in signing bonuses. $19M over the final 3 seasons. The cap hit is still huge.

If the season ended today, I'd be fine with moving on from Zibs, Panarin and/or Trouba. NMC be damned

Matthews may becoming available here shortly. At least he produces in the Playoffs.

Zibanejad had 24 points in 20 games last year. Hopefully he figures it out.

Panarin, though, I think I've had enough of. His game isn't suited to the playoffs and neither is his shot accuracy.

Trouba needs to step up the physicality to the next rung on the ladder.

He figured it out once Crosby got knocked out. It's a mental block. He needs a sports psychologist... the entire team does.

They are consistently inconsistent.

Trouba was dog shit up to the ASB. He was a little bit better post ASB but he doesn't do anything at a high level besides Open Ice Hits.

It's nearly $30M for 3 players and we've gotten f***all from them so far.

After we win the Cup this season I’m all for offering the lottery winning Bedard sweepstakes any two of the kid-line plus either Miller or Schneider plus the rights to Grubbe(if he doesn’t sign with that team then our 2024 4th round pick) and Igor Shesterkin. I’m absolutely I’m love with Igor but you have to give to get. All that for Bedard and their Goalie contract at 50 to 25% retained depending on the size and term of the contract.

Zibanejad isn’t the guy to move. It’s been 4 games. A center group of Zibanejad-Trochek-Chytil is solid.

It’s Panarin. The issue being, if he is moved, he has last say and there will be contracts coming back. By that I mean, it will be a complete team overhaul more than likely.

Would Seattle consider a deal around Dunn and Bjorkstrand? Collective cap hit will be close to Panarin.

They would be on crack to do that.

They being Seattle.

Panarin doesn't fit Seattle at all. He's a square peg in a round hole on that team.

Who the f*** was Brandon Hagel a year ago? Go out and get someone like that. Under the radar. The next Hagel is out there somewhere.

Here’s a tip; if the Rangers flame out this year in the playoffs, there will not be numerous major changes. There can’t be. Too much money, too many contract clauses and much too little flexibility to deal with around the League. Gallant may or may not be whacked. I would expect one signature move to shake things up and then some cosmetic moves to round out the roster. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that.

Bob, do you think we have the right players here or is it yet again a bunch of soft not in your face nice guys that you would want your daughter to marry?

Perfect world, I’d like a few different guys but the core is pretty damn good. I like the backend and this playoff validate their value. I think a shit disturber on the top two lines would be very helpful. I’d also like to see either Kakko or Lafreniere turn the corner. One may need to go.

Gallant will go and Panarin will go if there's a way to move him.

Send all these mofo's to basic over the summer. Make em go through all the shit. Start by buzzing Mika's hair off by a miserable ex-mil civilian that pushes the buzzer so hard into his scalp he bleeds (real shit). Modify it so that PT involves ice time. Make all them live in barracks, eating defac food and MREs. Make them low crawl through NIC at night like 10 times, make them ruck 15 miles through rain, carrying full water jugs, MRE boxes, and ammo crates. Make them sleep in a hooch on top of fire ant holes and ambush their ass all night to make them sleep deprived. Smoke the shit out of them all day, make em bear crawl on blazing hot concrete. Flip their food trays and make em push when they hold their cups the wrong way. Make the front leaning rest their entire existence. Make their lives a living f***ing hell for a month and a half. Then start regular NHL training camp as soon as the bus arrives back in NY. Let's see how lazy and disinterested these dipshits are to start a playoff game against a division rival after that. Bet they won't be.

Pretty sure this violates the CBA.
