I don't think Tkachuk even wants to go there.
probably not but who knows. I think they missed the boat on Debrincat and came up short with Palat. They definitely have to "try" to be in on Tkachuk even if he doesn't wanna go there.

If this is true I would love to add Elias Lindholm somehow. 2 years 4.8 left. 27 years old.

Would have rathered him than Trochek, but who knows what the trade cost would have been? Probably not something I'm willing to do.

Nils and a first probably doesn't cut it.

Now that Trochek is here there is no way to afford him either .... unless we move out Kreider, Trouba or Goodrow.

Panarin.

His contract is choking us .

That Brooks article today was so dumb. He mustve been out in the heat too much this week.

Rangers havent improved? Cuylle on the 1st line? Talking about moving Goodrow/Lindgren before a game is even played this year? The only thing he said that I agreed with was potentially keeping the Kid Line together but I dont expect Gallant to do that. I would definitely take Kane at the deadline too (if the deal is on our terms) but Larry's hard-on for him is nuts.

Can we let training camp and some games to be played before we start planning for next years cap gymnastics? Rangers are contenders, enjoy it.

The Rangers are a much worse team with Tkachuk replacing Panarin.

He's a hack. Just retire already.

Chris Drury when the trade requests from Gauthier, Lundkvist, Kravtsov, Jones, and Hajek pour in onto his desk in December but teams are not offering their 1st round picks

Gauthier, Hajek and Kravtsov will all require to go to the minors. They won’t need to request trades.

Definition of density

1.) mass of a unit volume of a material substance. The formula for density is d = M/V, where d is density, M is mass, and V is volume.
2.) the quality or state of being dense (applicably: slow to understand : STUPID, THICKHEADED).
3.) The shear level of braindead sometimes portrayed by certain posters on HF Boards NYR site.

Barring further moves - I believe we start the season with this team. Kakko signs a one year bridge for $2,1 M. Just enough cap space to recall a 23rd player from the farm. I like this team. Lots of growing potential. We will almost certainly add 1-2 good pierces at the TDL too (depending on a plethora of intangibles). But run with the young guns until then.

My cap knowledge is pretty atrocious so somebody will likely correct me... but if they retained 50% and took back something like Reeves, Blais, Gauthier as essentially cap dumps with Lundkvist and a first as the value I feel like it could somehow work if Kaako gets like $2.5m or under.

At best the Rangers might have enough cap to bring Kane in at the deadline. That said if there are multiple holes to plug the best strategy might be to bring in multiple players like we did last year. It's not like we have some kind of pop gun offense and when the kids really start to put it together it's going to be a better offense anyway. IMO Lafreniere is ready to break out.

The other thing is the cost. Chicago will do what it can to turn dealing Kane into a real bidding war. He will be a first ballot HOF'er but keep in mind he's not exactly the same player that was leading the Blackhawks to Cups some years ago. He's a much older version of that player even if he still produces a lot of offense.

Where is the cap space to fill multiple holes?

Kane controls that situation. He has a no movement clause. When DeBrincat was traded, everyone said Kane will ask out. Kane is in no rush to leave Chicago.

The Rangers wanted to pay $11M AAV. Panarin wanted more than $11M AAV. The Rangers traded Spooner to Edmonton for Strome in 18-19. The Rangers retained $900,000 in the trade for 18-19 and 19-20. Edmonton traded Spooner to Vancouver for Gagner a few months later. Vancouver decided to buy out Spooner. The Rangers obligation dropped for $900,000 to $300,000 in 19-20. The Rangers gave Panarin the $600,000.
