We'll start to find out how badly some guys are injured soon... we know Copp was banged up, the last 2 series' were rough, that line was awful but he had a good Pitt series and his regular season stint was great. Just about everybody was ready to pencil him for a few years. Theres some guys I buy the injury excuse for theres some I don't, we'll get an idea of how much an injury effected him. Definitely didn't help his cause with how Artemi and Strome played either. He looked like a completely different player as the playoffs went on. You have to wonder if he didn't play himself out of some money the last 2 series'. I'm still pretty high on the guy, I think he should be a good contingency plan, promote that kid line to the 2nd with Chytil at C, use Copp as the 3C and if that kid line has some bumps give Copps line some extra minutes.
Maybe lost some $ with how he finished the playoffs, keep the term fairly short in case you need to trade him to allocate it somewhere else. McCann is the comparable here, like Copp, put up his first 50 point season this year. We know Copp turned down 4mil X 5 years with the Jets, how badly does he want to stay in NY? Let's see if Drury can play hardball with him
