Another slug, he's a decent player but i would like a center who can actually move around the ice.
Find one that is affordable and other team would be willing to move and let me know who is left

Florida will be looking to move money this summer but I think they may look to move Bob's contract before moving Bennett or Reinhart for that matter.
of Course. there will probably be someone stupid to bail the panthers out of that deal. But if there isn’t they do need to clear cap

Let the free agents walk. Motte is the only one of them that warrants a contract based on his play, but he is a luxury we likely can’t afford for the 4th line. Instead, we should be molding Hunt into a better defensive forward and PK option.

Move the kids up to the top 6. They don’t have to be together. It actually could work pretty well if we split them up.

Kreider-Zibanejad-Lafreniere
Adds a passer to a line with two shooters

Panarin-Chytil-Kakko
Adds a shooter to Panarin’s line in Chytil. Both Chytil and Kakko are strong on the boards and might force some of Strome’s bad habits out of Panarin.

We don’t have the cap space to throw at our problems. We need cheap talent in the top 6.

In the bottom 6, we need a good 2-way 3rd line, but we don’t have the players to build that. Our options are lacking offensively (Goodrow, Hunt, Reaves, Motte if signed) or defensively (Blais, and Kravtsov, Othmann, or any other rookie forward are not going to be competent defensively at first). It’s going to take some work on Drury’s part to address this.

On D, I think Trouba is not the guy you want out there against top lines anymore. Miller and Fox can be the shutdown pair. Then you can put Trouba with Jones and Lindgren with Schneider.

I think the writing is on the wall with Kakko and he’s going to get packaged for an affordable center.

Kreider - Zibanejad - X
Panarin - X - Lafreniere
Othmann - Chytil - Kravtsov
Motte- Goodrow - Blais
Not to call you out specifically because I’ve seen a lot of people mention him, why do people think Othmann is anywhere near making the big club?

We’ve had multiple high upside forwards who have accomplished way more than Ohtmann up to this point not see minutes at the NHL level.

I cannot imagine him making this team anytime soon

Andrew Copp. How many big face-offs did Copp win last night? Gallant is a stubborn old man. He refused to play Copp in the middle until last night in the 3rd period.
This might be the most frustrating thing about that trade. Anyone with eyes could see Copp was auditioning to be a Strome replacement, and Gallant never f***ing played him at center

Copp is a much better center then Strome is and yet gallant was too stupid to play Copp at center

No, he isn't, he was typically the trailer and was positioned well on the wing. The fact that the two were never switched says way more about Copp as an OFFENSIVE center than it does for a Jack Adams finalist...

Maybe he'd be an ok 3C... would you want another expensive role player?

When I post a lineup, it’s usually what I expect, not what I want.

I don’t necessarily think Othmann is ready. I half expect him on the third line next season, part because the Rangers have cap issues and part because they like to have a high profile prospect in the lineup for fan interest.

Money is the Rangers biggest issue.

Greg Whshynski did the postmortem on the Rangers season. He would like to see the Rangers add

What they could use, if the money permits: a veteran defensive defenseman with a championship pedigree.

Lindgren-Fox
Miller-Trouba
???-Schneider

Jan Rutta?

It wasn't that long ago when Ben Chiarot had a $1.4M cap hit.

Start the season with Jones and flip him in a trade for a bigger D. Jones at $925,000 fits the cap.

The Jack Adams finalist scratched Kakko over a gimpy Strome. He knew Strome was hurt. He admitted Strome was hurt. He plays him. The Rangers are basically playing with 10 forwards because Strome is hurt and Hunt shouldn't be playing the ECF. Now we are seeing why Gallant has bounced from team in team. His Florida and Vegas teams had some good seasons but he was fired in midseason twice.

Or let Jones develop into the puck moving defenseman he has the ability to be for a team that sorely needs it.

To all the people that didn't understand why SIZE and 2WAY play matter....

this is the wake up call.

Tampa was bigger and more committed than us. We were WAY TOO SOFT. Our play down the middle was embarrassing.

I still think Chytil needs to move to Wing.

You have to re-sign Copp because we have literally nothing. There's no trade that will make sense

F THAT!

Outside of Fox, we don't really have a puck moving defenseman.

You want bigger D? You have Miller put on a few more pounds.

Rid Trouba of his caphit and get a more sensible player back there.

Drury scratched him, obviously... signs a guy who twice abandoned the team. Two and two, man...
