Just bringing it up for friendly discussion but if we resigned buch no way we have Reaves and Goodrow right (or maybe just Goodrow?) it’s a tough call but Thinking ahead About grinding tough playoff hockey I think I would rather have Goodrow and Reaves.

it’s not a bidding war they have to make a move or 2 . Dadonov they would have to add a pick too but he has a no trade list so won’t go anywhere

Jarnkrok makes only 2 million so that won’t save a lot

mid they are really serious about making a run, they aren’t going to move/ want to move a critical part like smith or Karlsson. That got them there...
I’d wager they ship out Dadanov+jannmark before moving smith and or Roy....
Even if they have to send a pick/prospect to ARI/Buffalo to do it..
It would be like us not self renting strome, it’s currently not in their best interest...
Jam-Karlsson-Smith have been their most consistent players all season and are a key part of the make up of that team...
They will more then likely try to move any/all options before moving a critical piece like smith while they have their sights set at making a cup run... just my 2 cents

Why doesn't Vegas just activate Eichel + Martinez come playoff time?

I'd have to think having player(s) skate with the team while cleared for contact for nearly 3 full months would raise red flags with the league / PA.

Kucherov was cleared for contact on May 4 2021, about a week before the regular season ended.

The Rangers are 16th in GFPG. Its not like they are completely devoid of scoring. And that is with Panarin and Zibanejad having slow starts.

I’ll take the more diverse lineup over Buchnevich’s scoring. We weren’t going to be able to keep Buchnevich anyway. We have deadline space to add some depth scoring.

i agree that’s their preference but they will have to send picks out W Dadonov

too bad we couldn’t have Blais return for a playoff run... kid has all the traits that would make him a quality playoff player in the middle/bottom 6. Size, hits like a tank, solid set of hands, decent speed, etc..
He’s just had some terrible injury luck. Hopefully he’ll be back and 100% healthy for the start of next year. He would be an important guy for ya in playoff hockey atmosphere imo.
His hits alone are momentum changers and bring the crowd/guys on the ice/bench alive...
It sucks that Drury is looking to add a similar player like that now at the TDL cause of that jerkoff Subban.

So you think Goodrow isn’t a terrific 200 ft player who is a terrific situational player (one of the reasons we are doing so well this year is much better situational hockey).
He takes faceoffs a better pk guy as well. Plays any position. Still think Reaves can wear down some defenses in 7 game series like the isles did last year

He’s only signed 2years, I’m sure ARI would gladly take him if they can add another 2nd for 22 or 23 draft.. they just keep stockpiling.
They mind as well move a disgruntled Chycrun and try to get another 1st ++.
It’s pretty obvious they are swinging for the fences these next 2 drafts on creating the core of their team...
Crouse and Boyd should also bring a 2nd/3rd if dealt.
That’s why I doubt they’d have a problem taking Dadonov, they are still going to have to field a team, as bad as it’s gonna be.

Guys like him will never get the recognition they deserve no matter how many times their play helps a team win. Not like that third line was probably their best line in the Cup against Montreal lol.

Nemeth needs to be dumped then. What’s the point of keeping him if we need to go out and get another veteran defender?

No, Goodrow hasn't been a terrific 200ft player or a terrific situational player. Buch's offensive impacts are far superior, and his defensive impacts are actually better, even if you factor in that Buch has played roughly half the PK time Goodrow has. You can literally look all this up. Go and mute the PxP on a few games next time and then come back with how "great" Goodrow is defensively.

Reaves at least isn't a total hinderance, if his TOI can be utilized better.

Wow takes faceoffs. Hovers around 50% for the last few years, and even then...faceoffs don't matter outside of single game sample sizes.

You want to know the big reason why the Rangers are doing so well this year on the PP/PK? It's Kreider and Igor. That's it. Not Goodrow's "terrific 200ft game" or Reaves' "ability" to wear down some defenses in a 7 game series.

And no, I'm not responding more. I'm going to bed.

I still think it's more likely we see someone with term acquired by the Rangers, but if Smith is cheap enough then he'd be a great addition as well. I wouldn't give up a 1st though.

They may get rid of him in the offseason but not during the season. Can never have enough depth.

If Nemeth is the 7 and Tinordi and Hajek never play another game, we should be thankful. I also wouldn’t put it past Gallant to play Nemeth and whatever veteran bottom pairing guy they get and rotate Schneider

don’t need to look it up I watch every game. Also trust the opinion of coaches who say he was one of the more effective playoff performers on a Stacked Stanley cup winning team and his playing time in clutch situations reflected that

Dadanov also has a year left on his contract. That’s going to be a non starter for a lot of people.

Arizona may have a ton of cap space but there at 46 contracts as of today, according to capfriendly.
