I probably would too if it came down it it. However, I just can’t think of many teams besides maybe CAR, CBJ, FLA, and STL who would need a goalie. Florida probably signs Bob, CBJ was rumored to be interested in Quick, Carolina will probably roll with Mrazek, and I could see STL staying invested in Binnington. I just don’t really see a situation where Hank waives his NMC and we find a reasonable suitor.
One of them is probably going to get Varlamov too

Ok explain how this works, how any of this works.
If Strome was replacing Hayes' offensive production, he'd have to produce for both himself and Hayes.

Just because he's produced the same raw numbers as Hayes has with WPG doesn't automatically mean he's replaced Hayes' production. To consider Strome having "replaced" Hayes' production, he would have had to have 20+ pts.

If we got Strome at the TDL and he was producing this much and in the same role, than yes, you could say that he replaced Hayes' production. But Strome was on the roster way before. So to say he replaced the production would mean you're now binning Strome into Hayes' slot, and someone else now needs to "replace" Strome's production, and so on and so forth. Of which, that hasn't happened.

This isn't rocket science.

Pionk or bust. I don't see why we even add the 3rd. Fox has Waddell by the... and that means so do the interested suitors. You can't let a significant piece of the Hanifin/Lindholm trade walk away for nothing just to make a point.

I don't know. Maybe I am getting greedy by saying Pionk or nothing, but I can't see Waddell having much, if any leverage here.

Well if there are multiple suitors for Fox (that he is willing to sign with) then to behave rationally they essentially must bid their value of the player and do not actually have the leverage. Else the Canes will always be able to present Team A's offer to Team B who will be able to one up it and so on until you reach their true valuation. This is the case for any amount of suitors > 1. If the Rangers are the only team that he will sign with then they of course have all the leverage and it's just up to Carolina to decide what they are willing to accept.

You are absolutely and spatially correct. I think the guy was trying to say that Strome has stepped up in Hayes’ absence and so we miss him less and got a very good return considering Lemieuxs impact.

Strome has indeed stepped up. Does not make it that we got Lemieux and a 1st "basically for free"

Deal Vesey and Names for picks or whatever.

Deal Shatty or dump him in the AHL (he can walk away if he wants to and become an UFA).

Get Fox and sign CURTIS LAZAR as a free agent.

Forget about the big name UFAs.

PO team. Questions on this?

no kid that grew up an avid Rangers fan and has a chance to become a New York Ranger is going to rush to sign with the Islanders of all teams if his heart is set on the islanders. Even Islander fans like matt Gilroy rather sign with the Rangers than the islanders. no one ever picks the Islanders over the Rangers. there are plenty of reasons for it and points in the standings isn't it.

I’d rather he go to the Island than hear you complain about his skating.

Strome before the deadline. .39 pts per game, after the deadline .76 per game. Replacing .39 pts per game in the bottom 6 can be done easily. Howden returning and getting more ice time and producing has more than made up for that not to mention the addition of Lemieux who is at .375 since the deadline ppg. Not to say this is how its gonna be but losing Hayes has been a net gain thus far.

I believe you missed a few words at the end of your last sentence.

Miller had a very tough time on this board from his rookie season almost up until the point we got not enough for him in a trade
You're aware this board isn't really a place, right? Miller never had a tough time here. He was never "here". In the minds of a bunch of people he couldn't care less about, there was an issue. It wasn't an issue to him. Our opinions about players around here mean about as much in reality as someone telling you they hate brussels sprouts.

We're done here if this is what you think all of this boils down to.

What I think it boils down to is that points wise we replaced Hayes contributions, plus we added a 1st rounder since the deadline. Hayes has been way overvalued on this forum for a 50 point player.

Shattenkirk has a NMC. His no-trade clause is limited, but you still can't send him to the minors. Not that I think they would or should anyways.

Where's Kreider?

...also, not a PO team.
