So many are petrified of losing a trade that they honestly don’t believe Copp is worth a pair of seconds? The NYR have tons of picks. He’s a UFA, sure, but these Swiss Army knife guys are MUST HAVES in seven game sets. 53% on draws? Can play anywhere and with anybody? Gourde-type, high energy players with insane work ethics? Penalty kill, PP, etc. I’d do it.

I don't care about the assets given up, I'd just prefer Gourde w/ retention. How much would Copp cost to sign? or is he just a pure rental?

Cap space is the enemy; not giving up our mid-tier futures.

Copp for two 2nds definitely sounds like the NYR. WOuld be on the high end of acceptable but still acceptable.

Given the Giordano price, just get a hunch that Drury is fishing for the best thing he can get with two 2nds.

I'm sure he wants the 1st in his back pocket to try to trade in a package for Kane/Chychrun/? at the draft. So even if they have their 1st at 4PM tomorrow, I'm not gonna fall in love with the mock drafts yet.

Francis is really working a mess in Seattle. The team is bad, he built it, they have beniers and some other young guys coming in but he's tearing it all down right now for futures and probably thinking he can backfill the team with his cap space this summer, but what kind of environment is he leaving for a beniers and other kids to deal with. That org is such a mess already. Francis has done a terrible job so far

Tarasenko at the deadline at 50% for 2 runs would have been a massive return for SEA. His shoulder looks good, he looks good.

Avs don't have a 2nd round pick this or next year. It'd be 2nd in '24 and '25 which I don't think Winnipeg accepts. It does smell like us. Boston only has '22 and '25. In contrast we have 4 2nd round picks in the next 3 years, 2 this year.

They've got guys that have won. Schwartz and Gourd will be their leaders. Cup winners too. Beniers will help a lot. Even more offseason space too.

I think they are fine and can really build out well with all these extra 2nd

Don't think the team is in a spot to give up a couple of 2nds for a rental player. Wonder if they'd be looking at the extra 2nd as the price to pay to audition Copp and potentially extend him. His skill set is better suited to centering Panarin and Kakko, IMO, and he'll likely be cheaper to sign than Strome.

What does Vancouver do? They cleared out cap space like they said they wanted to do with that Hamonic trade. They acquired Dermott right after so only $3M-$1.5M in space. They want to get rid of more. I think they take the best offer they can get for Boeser tomorrow. PIT quiet still so they haven't moved on from whatever it was they were discussing with Vancouver

Are you seriously basing trading decisions on a win against arguably the best team in the league under the circumstances of no rest, travel, and just playing Tampa? Oh and they played their backup goalie to boot. This is ridiculous. There are many reasons to think the Rangers aren't ready but winning in absolutely impossible circumstances should not be the reason. Some common sense please.

Is that what you took from tonight? The shots disadvantage? I saw it the opposite way. They just beat Tampa on the road in a terrific playoff style game and then less than 24 hours later beat a very good Carolina team in their barn. They were gassed tonight and Carolina gave them all they could handle and they still got the 2 points. Great weekend.
