The first 3 you mentioned probably have no value other than being throw-ins in any trade, but the time is now to deal Chytil & Kravtsov. Kravtsov probably goes with a pick for a solid rental forward and i think Chytil gets moved for a deBrusk/Lehkonen type. I am completely fine with both outcomes

You are selling both at the absolute lowest you can sell them for, which is a terrible idea.

Drury's resume so far is a mixed bag, but he hasnt made a single trade that sent out a prospect or high draft pick. Theres not a move out there that torpedoes the teams future, outside of trading Fox or Igor. Why does everything need to be so dramatic here?

Because what you are contending here is not true.

Today’s Media Availability. Alexis Lafrenier, Ryan (Pokey) Strome and Coach Gerard Gallant.

Fell bad for Gallant with the sinus issues. Think they should have their practice facility checked for mold.
Only seems to occur here. Not at the Garden or other Arenas.

Gotta say I was fully behind trading Buchnevich to make room financially and physically for Laf and Kakko to be top 6 players. When I see Dryden Hunt and Goodrow (who I love but should be a staple on third line) playing in the top 6 instead? Makes it really difficult to be happy.
I think this is the most logical way of looking at this from a fan’s perspective, and I’m right there with you. Drury may agree, but he hired Gallant, and Gallant is going to do what he feels is best.

Because that’s how these fans roll. Emotionally high, emotionally low. That’s why sometimes a step back from here isn’t the worst thing

Honestly, I think after seeing the how brutal the bottom-six was yesterday, it made Gallant, I’m sorry, it forced Gallant to move Laf back to that third line, because at least he’s set Gauthier up a few times. He just can’t finish. He should just shoot the puck immediately, not try and deke or make the extra move. To me, after the break, it’s go time for Chytil, or else he’s probably a goner. Time to show them something. Laf will be a staple in this team’s top-six for a long time. I’m honestly not concerned like a lot of people are. It’s no secret though that they need another forward. I would take Lehkonen, slot him in on a third line with Goodrow and Hunt, or Chytil if he stays, but I’d love to make that third line a solid, in your face, aggressive forecheck but responsible defensively line. That would require Laf jump into the top-six. Has Gallant seen enough to commit to that until the season ends?

There was an interesting analysis that came out that said chytil was actually the player on the ice the most when we need to prevent a goal.
I think gallant believes chytil is defensively responsible. Its the offensive side of the game.

GG is basically saying injuries and lack of third line production have forced him to get away from rolling his four preferred lines. And that’s fine. I would still keep Kakko and Laf in the top six while the team has a nice cushion in the standings. Getting those kids going would be just as good as any deadline acquisition.

I mean getting them going in the top 6 is one thing, but Laf is still too deferential even w Mika and Ck. Perfect world get Laf going on the 3rd and let him just be creative and in control.

Brooks mentioned it today, but yesterday was notable as its one of the rare times GG has publicly called out his team.

Today, he's back to hedging his critiques with "we've played the most games, lots of road games".

True. Unfortunately there’s not enough talent on the third line to help Laf get going. Part of that is Blais’s injury and the other part is Chytil and Gauthier stalling out in their development.

Georgiev has a save percentage of like .940 while Igor was hurt. Not saying Georgiev is awesome. But it’s hard to ask for much better than that.
Im not trying to speak for @haohmaru but I think theyre saying that Geo cant play the role as a backup bc it messes up his game. Dunno, if its in his head or rust? but he needs to be a starter or 1B and it will not happen with the Rangers barring something huge.

This is going to be a big advantage for us come trade deadline day

I mean not in the way it really could be used.
We can theoretically take on a big expiring contract, but we’re not gonna be the third time and turn cap space into a 1st.

When has the third team in these trades ever turned it into a first?

If Strome prices himself out of here and they're not gonna look at Chytil in the 2 spot my little under the radar vote is to go back to St Louis in the summer and try to pry Barbashev out of there. He's someone I mentioned a couple years ago who's been buried over there for a bit. Russian kid you could plug next to Panarin with some skill but plays a solid 2 way game. W or C, physical, PKs, little bit of PP time this year. We're starting to see some of the talent he has getting a bunch of minutes centering Buch and Tarasenko. I don't think it'll cost an arm & a leg to nab him and I think his next contract will be super affordable.

The Blues are loaded with talent they're gonna run into some good problems shortly. They have O'Reilly, Tarasenko, Thomas, Kyrou, and Barbashev expiring next year. Perron this year. They're committed to Schenn long term (NTC and length gotta assume he's not getting moved), Buch and Saad are locked up but movable... safe to assume they're gonna lock up O'Reilly and get Kyrou & Thomas long term on big $. They'll have 3 good centers locked up... plenty of top 6 talent that I'm not sure Barbashev will be enough of a priority (if they can even afford it in 2 seasons) that you couldn't pluck him out of there
