Friedman has whiffed on most of his rangers musing over the past few years. It seems like he is basing his guesses on the stereotypical ranger move and not on rumors. He said we would be in on free agents last year FWIW.

The other guys, yeah they say it too. Dolan wants season tickets sold, kind of funny that he gave an interview at that special special time of year.

Gorton said something else. So are we dismissing the general manager because we think he is going to deviate from the plan for the first time, or because we want him to shop?

Basically all of this.

I respect the good insiders (McKenzie, Elliotte, LeBrun, etc.) but they all basically sang this song last year too.

I have seen this being said on here all season long but can't find anything to corroborate it, do you have any links that would show he said this?

Let me say this. If we aren’t signing big time ufas I don’t see the point in not trading kreider. He’ll be 29 when that contract kicks in with nothing around him other than Mika. Makes no sense.

If he’s dealt at the draft I don’t expect us to sign anyone of significance and this will be a painful couple more years unfortunately probably wasting Mikas prime in the process.

Agreed with this 100%, and even if they did sign some big UFA's it still might be wise to trade him. But without that he should be gone by the draft.

He would be a good acquisition as a UFA but the hype train is starting to run away a little bit.

He's a solid top four prospect and he'd be a valuable young player to have in this organization.

If people are expecting to be completely blown away by what he does in the NHL, that's probably a recipe for disappointment and long HF Board threads.

Imo He’s getting the Vesey treatment right now when in reality he’s not that good. He’s a lousy skater and tiny.

Sure enough playing a fast big team today in UMASS and he’s getting exposed badly. I honestly don’t think he’s better than Pionk who’s no great skater either but is a much better skater than fox. He’s certainly not a better prospect than Nils Lundkvist. No way.

He seems to project more as that 2nd pairing guy in the mold of a Hajek which would be a real nice addition but he doesn't project as a 25 minute a night all situation player like a Hedman. Not trying to downplay his skills because him and ADA on the right side would be AMAZING moving forward.

With all due respect his game body skating is nothing like hajeks. Hajek is a big strong smooth skating defense first guy. Prob won’t score much although he’s got it in him. Where as fox is small not a good skater offensive guy that does most of his damage on the pp.

Fox is more in the Pionk mold.

What a player Colorado has in makar though. Big strong skilled fast. I mean they get Hughes and this guy next year to add to what they’ve already got my goodness

I've been trying to send this point home... Why keep Mika? He's in his prime and on a steal of a contract. If we're not going to attempt to compete, trade/package him for a young stud.

I'm not in that category though. I think we should go after Panarin

It was mostly podcast stuff. I'm sure there is something written with the EK trade and JT signing where he figured us to be in the mix. I'm working so I won't be able to pull anything for a bit.

I keep going back and forth with what I want to do honestly.

I see Mika DeAngelo Kreider Buchy coming around Skjei is a good player Strome is a good player. Lemieux. I like Chytil and Howden I think they take big steps next season I think Kravtsov can be a stud and then I think about getting a Dylan Cozens or turcotte that can help soon and I want to add a Panarin and a top 4 righty D like Trouba or Myers or Hamilton.

Then I can see why they want to go full rebuild and add another top 5 kid in 2020 full bottom out.

We just can’t go half way. Either go all in and add a couple big time players or tear it down. Don’t keep a kreider but not help add to the group.

The idea would be that the Rangers will be good by the time Zibanejad's contract is up, so it would make sense to sign him even though he will be 29. But who knows if that will even be true and if it's not they would have missed out on selling at his highest value before his NMC begins.

I’m not trading Mika either way. Even if we’re bad for 2 years he’s 27 when we’re ready. He’s going to get the C imo.

Fire Ruff
Dump Shatty
Re-sign Kreider; 6 years
Trade Names and/or Vesey. I think Names is more valuable as a bottom6 player/PKer. Hopefully he would sign for less than 5%
Trade Skjei for Trouba
Sign Panarin 6/72
Look to get Strome on a 'steal of a deal' 3-4 years?
Ask Hank if he wants to retire with a beautiful front office job

Panarin Zibanejad Buch
Kreider Hughes Kravtsov
Andersson Howden Chytil
Lemieux Strome Names/Fast

RD - Trouba - ADA - Smith? - Pionk - | Keane - Lundkvist
LD - Staal - Hajek - Rykov - Lindgren - | Miller

Lundqvist - Georgie - Shesty

edit- Forgot Lemmy.

along with another 4 draft picks in the top 2 rounds.. We should start moving forward..

Fox would/will be a Hayes level college FA to me, a good piece for free, but not going to be the best prospect in the pool or be a good bet to be a top line/pair player

He might have just had the worst game of his year today too.

But man was his skating exposed today.
