Pagnotta can break some legit stuff but he also is the type to float things out there for engagement. That’s what he used to be exclusively before he started actually breaking things a few years ago.

What is your obsession with the Islanders? They are currently 19 points out of a playoff spot with 23 games left. Their chances of making the playoffs is almost non-existent.

The Islanders have made up 3 points on the Rangers in the past ten games, maybe if they go to 162 games they can catch us.

Let them wallow in mediocity for all I care. I hope they trade their 1st this year and next to load up on a run to make one last gasp at it this year and fall flat into the mud.

Has there ever been a big trade deadline addition that has actually worked out? Isn't it mostly teams with a set core adding key role players and depth that tend to win cups? I might be missing something obvious, but I can't think of anything.
 
wonder hwat the canucks are doing. I know they're intent on trading away some players for future cap flexibility. The new regime is backing themselves on being a new-age fresh asset management type front office. Garland, Boeser, Miller, Myers, Hoglander have all been floated, albeit by rumormongers like Rick Dhwaliwalwal but I can't see them going through to Tuesday with no moves.

The big teams have paid and paid big. Boston is done buying after that Lindholm trade. Florida is done. Colorado remains. Carolina remains.

Gotta be a few teams lurking around for the Canucks players.

Yeah no big splash addition has ever won a cup that year. Borque is one people think about, but he didn’t win it that year and won it the following. Hossa famously didn’t win w Pittsburg and went to Chicago to win. Maybe a late career mark recchi with the bruins
