If Rakell is a 1st and a prospect, I'm out on that. Just a 1st? It's more palatable.

Giordano is also going for a 1st, so it'd be one or the other in that scenario.

Honestly would rather just get Domi. Talent and grit. I think he'd do well with Gallant.

Don't need the bells and whistles this trade deadline. Focus on making the playoffs an experience for the kids and not a demolition.

Reassess around the draft and see who is available.
1st round pick for Rakell is awful. Drury should be fired on the spot. This player was good 2-3 years ago.

I listened to 2 segments with Elliotte Friedman today. Jeff Marek show and Bob Stauffer in Edmonton. He gave a rundown on all of these players. He never mentioned the Rangers once in connection with any of the players Brooks mentions. Frank Seravalli had a two hour podcast today. He went through every team in The NHL. He doesn't see the Rangers as big players in the rental market. Frank discussed Georgiev. Teams aren't that high on him anymore. His body language is awful. His attitude is bad. Other teams have noticed. Staple wrote Drury had a deal for Georgiev to Arizona for a low-level goalie prospect in December before Sheshterkin hurt his groin. Josef Korenar? He was acquired from San Jose in the Adin Hill trade. He played some games for San Jose last season. Korenar would give the Rangers a cheap option in net.

I have always wanted the Rangers to buy heavilybut if these are the rental prices they need to be realistic with the situation they are in. A first for Rakell or Giordano and 3 assets got lindholm? Pass

Get a depth forward and Justin Braun/Colin Miller as depth on D. Figure out a 2C upgrade with the assets we’ve saved in the summer

Its a late first but yeah that would be a steep price.

However look at the potential lines with a healthy lineup and Rakell added:

Kreider – Zibanejad – Lafrenière

Panarin – Strome – Kakko

Vatrano – Chytil – Rakell

Goodrow – Rooney – Reaves

We'd go 3 deep now and the 4th line would be more than adequate

How about Nick Bonino? Cap hit 2.05 for this year and next year. Plays center. UFA when he is 35. He is 33 now. Center ice help couldn't hurtm

I’ve got a bad feeling we’re gonna hold firm …
Add a depth D man you’ve never watched before …

Colin Miller …

Yawn

Hoping against hope that @Edge rises from the dead
The guy actually broke a lot of news and yet... 2-3 really annoying posters decided to push back against him on every little thing and... voila! Why we can't have nice things here. I don't remember the names off the top of my head but there were some consistent posters poking at ever bit of news he got that didn't actually pan out.

Domi would be so perfect for us, would replace that swagger & edge we lost in DeAngelo/Lemieux. He’s even got diabetes, maybe he would help Kakko

Pros:
- Good offensive skill
- Plays all forward positions
- Very tough
- Great skater
- Swagger/Charisma
- Has diabetes

Cons:
- Upcoming UFA (could be pro as we don’t worry about long cap hit)
- Might cost decent prospect/pick
