If the Rangers don’t want to overpay for Yani Gourde, how about his teammate Jared McCann, he like Sammy Blais is a good player but gets hurt from time to time. He has good skill and can play top 9 and is another center they can use. Has some grit and skill in the top 9 only 25 years old (RFA and caphit of 2.9)
why is seattle trading one of their competent centers on a team in need of offense?

Vally also said we were signing Danault so I don't think he's going off of any legitimate sources or anything

Vally always seems to be on the right track of whats happening, but never quite nailing it. Clearly the Rangers were in on Eichel and trying to make it work, and i believe it was reported they were the runner up to LAK for Danault. I think him tweeting about Miller is more confirming the teams interest, rather than anything being close

Agree, just saying a lot of people paint Strome as some awful player but he is going to be missed.
Agreed. It’s got to be a big focus this offseason to replace those minutes if we can’t find a way to keep him

The Rangers put themselves in a really bad spot by busting on Andersson and Chytil. Their best C prospect right now is Barron who by all appearances will likely top out as a 3C.

I think strome is better/more useful to this team overall if he is NOT playing with panarin and I have been advocating for that since the summer. He plays differently with panarin. At first it would good bc I think it helped strome finally develop his offensive game at this level, now he is more than panarins lap boy and needs to be used in a manner to allow him to flourish and help bring other players along.

I'm worried about the Kotkaniemi-style offer sheet with Kakko. Guess the Canes were in a unique position because they had so much cap, and they were so secure that they would be good this year.

Does Engvall play center or good on faceoffs? I know he does play LW but has he played center at the NHL AHL level consistently well?
I think a bit over 40 % on the dot . I think he played more as a C before Speeza arrived but I am not sure of the breakdown overall . He has been playing well this season .

Pretty interesting that those that still want to debate Hughes vs. Kakko (a dumb debate because we never had a shot at Hughes) bring up durability as a big discriminator. Our man strength, Hossa clone horse sure does seem to get injured quite a bit and not by glaringly obvious violent collisions.

And regarding our C depth, I think it’s time we start to realize that upgrading Strome (or even keeping Strome) is not going to happen. This team has allocated its cap space to the defense and wing positions, and that likely remains true for the next several years unless there is a major shakeup to the prospect pool.

We are lucky to have Zib at 1C. The rest of this team’s centers are going to have to be cheap, two way players in the Vegas mold.

Drury can’t help himself, it seems.
