I would sooner do Hajek for Pierre Engvall straight up . Leafs need a Dman bad as they are operating now with an emergency call up on the bottom pair and use Chytil in another deal .
Does Engvall play center or good on faceoffs? I know he does play LW but has he played center at the NHL AHL level consistently well?

I’ve obtained thetan level 20 and have read Drury’s mind, here’s the plan:

obtain Chychrun/Larsson/Stralman for Krav/Lundkvist/1st/Chytil/Nemeth

obtain Copp for a 2nd and a prospect like Pajuniemi

Krieder Mike Laf
Pan Strome Kakko
Copp Larsson Goodie
Hunt Rooney Reaves
(Barron/Goat)

Chychrun Trouba
Lindy Fox
Miller Stralman
(Hajek/Schneider)

I'm not on twitter so the only things I read are what's reposted, but he seems like he really enjoys trolling the fans.

I dont take it as trolling but he definitely tweets like a fan so its probably more speculative. Pretty sure hes close to Drury though

I think they'll hold out for Miller who is still a project but gives them the upside to really win the trade big time.

Agreed on Miller. Have to think if he was on the table it would be close to a no-brainer for Arizona. Id guess the situation is now 1. How do we bridge the gap between Lundkvist & KAM value wise and 2. Is another team willing to beat the Rangers offer.

It would be a big mistake for Florida to trade Lundell, but the Yotes need to pounce if they offer him imo

It appears as though if they make the move for Chychrun, the MAX they can spend on a 2C next year is probably about $3.5m. Something to keep in mind

I’m not opposed to trading K and we’d probably need a top 4 D back to fill his spot asap…I’m just not sure Chychrun is the right return for that package.

I just can’t see him being that significant of an upgrade over Miller to make us add Kravs + a 1st and an additional $3.5M to the cap next year. Maybe I’m just ignorant to how good he actually is though.

Guys, Lindgren is 23 years old. His contract will be up when he is 26 years old. I know we all remember Staal and Giradi but we are showing serious recency bias here. Giradi from 26-30 was a very effective player for this organization. We don't need to be in a rush to move Lindgren...

Until you realize at age 26 he wants a 6 year deal or small 1 yr bridge to UFA. If he wants to sign another 3 year deal at a 3rd pairing price then by all means, do it. Remember, in the scenario I painted, Chychrun and KAM are both theoretically ahead of him on the depth chart at that point.

He was completely reasonable on his last deal. I'd rather hold on to him and then make that decision in a couple of years then rush into it.

Players don’t have much leverage at 23 years old. Exception being star players. That changes when they are 26 and a short arbitration bridge to UFA status.

This fear of 2 years from now, while understandable, just can't take hold of every decision though. for all we know, at that point he wants some security and looks at a 4-5 year deal as exactly what he wants at $4.5m. Not every player is the same. He's a BIG part of this teams defense right now and all at 23 years old. I wouldn't be in a rush to move him because of what his next contract may be in 2 years.

I agree on no rush. It’s just extrapolating years out if you trade for Chychrun and keep KAM. The Rangers would be able to afford Lindgren on 3rd pair at $4M? I doubt it. If they don’t go Chychrun, sure, maybe you do it.

Plenty of time to see how pieces fall into place. Certainly not advocating a rush to trade Lindgren.

I agree, it would give them a glut on the left side and some time to see it play out. For all we know, they bring Chychrun in and he flops and he is the one they let walk in 3 years...

Lindgren is one of the least of this organizations problems. I also don't see too many teams clamoring for a pure defensive Dman in a trade for their top players.

I have a feeling Max Domi will be a Ranger by the deadline.

2ed (Blues) to Jackets for Max Domi (resign Domi)

Mika Strome Domi down the middle. Not too bad for the playoffs

Rangers trade Chytil and Hajek to Bruins for DeBrusk and Frederic??? Close in value????

I am more open to DeBrusk than most here i think. He has a track record of scoring in a depth role (including a 27 goal season) and some playoff experience. Clearly in need of a change of scenery, but If he can pay RW he would definitely help, and they can easily walk away from his QO in the summer, effectively making him a rental.
