Speculation: Roster Building Thread - Part XXXIII - 2 months until TDL

For those dreaming that Nemeth can be included in a deal for Chychrun, isn't Arizona essentially only interested in picks, prospects, and ELCs?

There's a good chance last night is the last time they visit MSG as either the Arizona Coyotes or as the Coyotes altogether as they might be Houston/KC/Portland/Quebec bound.

They would be taking on salary to make a deal work. They can flip Nemeth for a 4th or use his salary to hit the cap floor, which they’ll likely need help doing. They have 12 players on expiring contracts as is

Nashville has too many good centers under contract. There's a log jam for development. Johansen Granlund and Duchene are all staples on their roster. Sissons is one of the best 3rd line centers in the league on a sweet deal- no way they give him up.

Glass, Kunin, Trenin.

Tomasino hasn't been playing center but he was drafted as one.
 
Defense is still a problem for us even with the prospects.

Chychrun makes sense. If you’d rather spend the assets elsewhere, that’s fine and fair. Chychrun would give us a legit top pair partner for Fox (Lindgren is an animal, but top pair he is not.) Let’s not act like we’re set on the back end. If anything, we’re way stronger down the middle at the moment than we are on D.

I’d trade Lindgren in a deal for JC. I’d even consider doing Miller. If you can get him with out moving either it’s a no brainer

No surprise here. He got away from that horrible coach and returned to his excellent play he had show in WPG.

Nah this is Peter paying Paul.

The advantage to getting Chychrun is to have Lindgren and Miller with him at left D.
 
How about Bertuzzi from the Wings, would add depth on the top 3 lines provides skill and the perfect style of physical and agitating built for the playoffs


Bertuzzi to NYR for Chytil and 2ed (blues)

Nemeth would be a pure salary dump.

The interest in Chychrun makes perfect sense to me and they should pull the trigger as long as they can keep the NHL D intact. I think the Carolina game really shined a light on the need for another defenseman who can get the puck out of the zone. Chychrun is also a horse that can take the load off Fox, who is playing great but you can tell is getting worn down.

Chychrun-Fox
Miller-Trouba
Lindgren-Schneider

That's a championship defense right now. The 5v5 numbers will drastically improve if they can make this deal.
