I think it will be ok. Strome hasn't been extended yet. I still think he strikes out this summer on length and him and the Rangers go short term like 2-3 years for like $5.6 million.

They might make some win now moves but unless they trade all the young players and prospects which is impossible in the hard cap era, they'll have a chance at a retool.
Panarin and Trouba are only here four more years. If Panarin is basically Rick Nash 2.0 in the playoffs which I get the vibe he will be, they can walk away from him or at worst trade/buy him out after year three at which point the prospects will be in their prime.
If none of Laf/Kaako/Berrard/Othmann/Cullye and perhaps random late round Euro-NCAA prospect progress to anything more than the typical 20G-20A homegrown Ranger we're accustomed to, Ortmeyer and Lilles are done.
