iF you want a top tier defensively strong center you want Hertl, not Scheifele.
I mean to adding the level of players in your hypothetical? No, but no team would (or could) do that.
Those teams all made major deadline acquisitions and then won. Tampa and Boston made several.

Mark Scheifele has been arguably the worst defensive center in the league over the last few years.
I just looked his stats up and he's even worse than I thought. He's literally the worst or top 5 worst among centers in almost every defensive category there is, both in actual numbers and relative. Shots. Scoring chances. High danger scoring chances. Goals. Expected goals.
He has been almost impressively bad defensively.

I don't see how it's possible unless we move Trouba and/or Kreider
or some players have mysterious injuries

I like the idea of that but we know GG isn’t rolling with an all rookie pair in the playoffs
The money wouldn't work but Panarin-Hertl-Strome could be a great line.
Nils should have been used as trade capital before the season started.

How does the money work without getting rid of Trouba?
Agree, and kind of feel like if it ain't broken, why fix it? These guys are used to playing together. There's obviously been good chemistry going on between Strome and Panarin (throw Fox in there too) since the get go. If they can find a consistently productive right winger to gel with, look out. We got one of the better second lines in the league. Will look even more solid under Gallant.
Lol no it is not how I determine. I have watched him plenty of times . And it wasn’t just one year. Lol at Strome being similar. Big Lol.
Why is Scheifele even being discussed? Haven’t seen a single rumor of him being available and we can’t fit his hit under our cap. Waste of thread space.
