For all of Chytil's faults on the ice, you can not argue against his work ethic and willingness to do whatever is asked of him to be an NHLer. Basically the exact opposite person to Krav. I think Chytil's future in the NHL is at wing. Play him with the Z or Strome line on the right and put Kakko on the other. No more Hunt.

Well, he comes Filly on the wing. For his sake as well as the teams, I’m hoping he can find some success there and maybe pop in couple of points and get his confidence and his overall play/ pt production at a higher more consistent level.
I’m curious to see what line Gallant puts him on....

I’m glad chytil is reacting well to the news of the switch. I really don’t think he cares if he plays Center or wing either, as long as he’s playing and hopefully getting more minutes... I wonder the last time chytil played full time wing???

The question becomes what wing...
If its panarin's, then we have laf back on the third line. If its the third line, then whats the point of moving him to the wing. And Laf plays off wing?

You want to give him top 6 minutes, then yea that makes far more sense, but I dont think his play has been so bad that he deserves to be slid to the wing on his own line.

Yea, I think if they're talks about switching him to wing it's to give him top six minutes and not to switch him to wing on the third line. Moving him to wing on the same line is not going to make a difference. I'd rather see Laf or Goat get a top six shot instead. You can throw in any center in the middle of Laf and Goat and you will be stuck with a third line that isn't good enough defensively to trust in tight games and to make things worse you already have the Panarin line that sucks defensively. I don't see why they are putting themselves in this situation.

Yep, CK is one of the best players in the NHL this season. He isn't being moved to the third line.

I don't think CK-Mika has been anything special 5v5. CK has 12 5v5 pts and Mika 13. Laf has 8 and everyone agrees he's been struggling...
Shuffling CK down the lineup while still getting PP1 time probably doesn't really harm his production in a meaningful way, and having a legit 1st liner at centre might help Laf along

Man, the Buch trade is devastating. Guy doesn’t just look like a top liner, he looks like a top player in the league. You HAD to get a better return. That trade will haunt us.

It's devastating if STL goes on to win a Cup and Buch wins a Hart Trophy. Otherwise it was a cap move.

They didn't get fair value because Buch disappeared in big games, cap implications, and the typical "Rangers always have to pay more in trades" which people have said is not true but absolutely is.

Maybe Gallant thinks that the move might jump start his offense a bit?
Or maybe we see a Chytil- Zibby- Kreider line for the same reasons???

If we just had another actual 3rd liner or two, I'd love to send Laf to the AHL for a 20-25 game stint, and then roll with a top 6 of Bread--Zibanejad--Strome and Kreider--Chytil--Kakko. 4th line would be Rooney with Hunt and Reavo. 3rd line would be Goodrow, Gaut, and hypothetical missing 3rd liner.

He’s scored some very timely clutch goals. Showed more of a pulse against Washington than soyboy & co did. Buch stands up for his teammates and isn’t afraid of playing a physical game. The bubble? Lol, we should be looking at the entire teams work in the bubble.

I thought trading Buch made complete sense. I wish they had been able to get a first instead of a second. Maybe a first that becomes a second if it’s 15 or higher, for example. But that’s life. He gets a great opportunity and contract. I’m sure the universe of teams who could and would pay his freight was limited. Basically, I’m just happy he’s doing well and an example of the Rangers successfully developing a forward. If we’re going to be successful developing players, this is going to happen.
